Who owns their facilities? USD Who has their games on regional television? Ok, you got me there Your hockey budget skews everything when comparing the two schools, so it is not a fair comparison. But it still doesn't matter because the MVFC is not sponsoring hockey. USD is also a much better fit location wise. Personally, I think we'll both end up there eventually.

Umm....USD? Closer to the footprint, flagship school, finances, good relationship with MVC member already (UNI). Sorry, but I think USD would be choice number one.

I don't think I ever said USF has a horrible football team. Also, those were not the same venues, same building, not the same environment. USD played them on homecoming, in front of almost 12,000 screaming fans in a rivalry game that UND wanted badly. USF played in front of a half full, quite arena, against a team that was unprepared and uninspired. I wouldn't say USD was uninspired in their game, I think they were ready to play. I could argue that this game was USF's Super Bowl, that they had pretty much all season to prepare for it given the total lack of competition they have come up against so far this season and really no other team to worry about the following week, and that they took full advantage of the situation for which I do have to give them credit. Given all these factors I would say that USF was the better team than UND on that given Saturday. Now, if they were scheduled to play again this week, I would take my mortgage payment and bet it on the Sioux because I doubt that ever happens again.

Comparative scoring? You should know better than that. How is it hating by saying USD would beat USF? How is it hating by saying UND took you guys lightly? They obviously did because by most accounts that was the worst performance by an uninspired UND football team in years.

After watching the Coyotes the last two games against UC Davis and Montana St I really don't think USF would pick apart our D. Admittedly, we've had problems with the D in the past but the unit has really played a lot better of late. USD did put out the offer to USF to come to Vermillion, they turned us down because UND paid them more. You guys got caught in a perfect storm. You were banged up, just got off of two tough games after spending the whole first month of the season on the road. Have to go to SUU next week. Ahh, USF is just an NAIA school, we'll take care of them. Watching the game, the coaches didn't prepare and the players were not ready to play. If USF ever were to play USD, and I would be in TOTAL favor of it happening, USD would be prepared and would lay the wood to USF. You see, we have extra motivation seeing as how they are right there in Sioux Falls, and everybody around here has had to listen to Soo Foo Coo talk for far to long. No, there would be incentive to bury that team once and for all. I doubt it will ever happen though as our home schedule for the next couple years is shaping up nicely.

Well, because here is why. Check out the poll KWSN Radio is running today asking if USF could beat SDSU, USD, and Augie. Of course some idiots are voting that of course USF could beat State and The U. http://www.kwsn.com/ I knew this would happen.

The problem today is you guys are playing with no heart. I watched UND beat USD and we were real ticked down in Verm because we thought we had the better team but the Sioux played with heart that day. The fans were into it, the players were selling out, the place was all fired up. Today, I can't even believe I am watching the same team. And you pick this game against USF to lay an egg. Now those people in Sioux falls will crow how they have the best team in the state when all that has happened is the Sioux didn't bother to show up. I can't believe I am this upset, yes a Coyote fan, this upset.

This is not only embarassing to North Dakota right now but also South Dakota, SDSU, NDSU, Augie, the whole of the former NCC. Step it up Sioux!

Morningside was a bottom feeder in the NCC and quickly jumped to national prominence in NAIA. USF would finish middle of the pack in the NSIC. They have played nobody this year and usually haven't the last couple years unless they play Morningside or a national semifinal type game. Morningside should have beat USF last year but screwed up. USF, for all the chest thumping is not at this level. Send those 500 fans packing home in their proper place. You guys can talk up this game all you want to generate some interest but if the Sioux don't beat the Cougs by at least 30 I will be shocked and a bit disappointed.

I think UND has Sitting Bull. Lord knows he spent more time on UND's campus than USD's over the 47 years we competed for him. I'm in favor of introducing a new traveling trophy. I don't think it would be contrived since we did play for Sitting Bull for all those years, unlike two schools who invented one out of nowhere. We have given our trophy battle a proper 10 year rest. 2010 would be a good year to reintroduce something new. A Golden Pheasant, maybe??? I like trophy's based in history though.

Good for you UND. I think it's great you got that package on FCS and even better the NDAC is crying about it. Reminds of how USD gets everything on Midcontinent and the Jacks get squat. Just shows that people want to see the U's, we sell ad dollars, that's why we're on TV. EDIT: Wow you guys weren't kidding, they ARE freaking over at Bville. Really has to burn them when they flip on Midcontinent and all the USD games are on as well. Maybe if they would schedule the Sioux or the Coyotes their alumni could actually see the games instead of reading about it in the Sunday paper (so 20th century).

Uh Oh. Looks like the U is coming in on a bit of a roll. Time to pay you back for last year. GO YOTES, BEAT THE SIOUX!

Morningside anybody? Haven't heard much out of Sioux City, but I would think Morningside, being USF's rival, would be looking at going with them. Or maybe they are happy winning in NAIA.

Can we start calling it the Divsion Formerly Known As Division 2 instead of D2? It looks nothing, nothing at all like it did 10 to 15 years ago. Seriously, Minot St, Sioux Falls?? Look at the exodus, and not just the NCC schools, our GWFC mates in Cali were once D2 as well. As well as schools littered all over the South and Southeast. I see D2 now as, well like a D2AA, whereas I see FCS as the old D2.

I've posted other announcements and nobody's minded so I guess I'll post this here as well. USD just landed a 2012 game at Northwestern. http://www.usdcoyotes.com/sports/football/...release_id=5122 So it's 2010-Minnesota and Central Florida, 2011-Wisconsin, 2012-Northwestern. Kind of cool and really ties into our recruiting well. We pull many of our kids from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Chicago, and Florida right now the way it is. These games should only help recruiting those areas in the future.

You know, I support UND keeping the Sioux name, you guys will always be the Sioux to me, but don't go there. At least USD OWNS their facilities and doesn't rent them from the city. Seriously, you guys will be having you're tongues wagging when we put up our new basketball arena in a couple years. Just don't call my town and my school crap, I don't think you've ever heard that about UND or GF coming from any of us.

USD SGA (Student Government Association) is basically a joke. I think my high school student council had more teeth. Anyways, if your student government is like ours, and a majority obstained when they have no power. Talk about a dog and pony show. Seriously, I love the Sioux name, but at this point it is holding you back. Sieze the opportunity to fashion your own name rather than fight for the Sioux name, because it is gonna be gone, and you don't want the liberal profs renaming UND the Green Wave or something stupid like that. Heck, us Coyotes wouldn't even wish THAT upon you. (But we would the Jacks, The Yeller Wave, I like the sound of that).

Just thinking of all you NoDaks up there. Let's get rid of this weather and let spring (and some dry days) come. I know Fargo is seeing the worst but GF is right down river so I am hoping you guys will be OK.

Any chance USD plays in GF on a hockey weekend? Though I may become a little drunk from celebrating a Coyote victory, but I can plan on hitting the friday game.

Why are the 2010 and 2012 games against USD in Vermillion mid-season games along with the 2009 game in Grand Forks? I see they had some sense and made the 2011 game in GF the last game of the year. I think it was pretty cool how the last game of the year the last few years has been USD v UND weekend. I wish they could permanently make that the last game of the year.

This is an outsider's perspective, but one of a hockey fan. Why should NDSU, or USD, or SDSU, or any other school add hockey? Because as a passionate fan of the game I want the sport to expand into as many schools as possible to expose more and more people to this great game. That said, if NDSU adds hockey before USD (if USD ever does) I will be jeolous, just like I'm jeolous UND has hockey and USD doesn't. That may not fly on this board, and this also may not be well received, but my buddy and I have tix to the Gopher/Badger game Saturday night in the Cities and I can't wait for the puck to drop. Road trip!
