  1. Once again, you're seeing patterns in unrelated events. Some people see the pattern of a human face on the moon, some people don't. But, very few people think that there really is a "Man in the Moon."
  2. It's really amazing how you can see things that aren't there and yet completely ignore clear statements. Here's the only statement Delaney actually makes about the future of the Big Sky in that interview: "...Get another school and make it 14 and then have two divisions so there’s a champion on each side." What does that have to do with any of your fantasies?
  3. No, the move became possible because adding UND was necessary to stabilize the Summit. The MVFC schools acquiesced because a stable Summit is also their best interest. Once the nickname issue was resolved, all it took was for UND to ask.
  4. First, there actually is an FBS bowl game played in that small soccer stadium ( the Frisco Bowl). Second, I'm sure UCF was thrilled to play in the 2009, 2012 & 2014 St Petersburg bowl game (formerly the Beef O'Brady's Bowl, currently the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl) in the middle of December in front of <30K fans in a baseball stadium. Those are the kind of FBS bowl games NDSU fans are reluctant to leave FCS for not New Years Day games against Auburn.
  5. I hope you realize that the article you posted in no way supports your doomsday predictions about the future of the Summit. In the article, Douple acknowledges that change may be coming but expresses confidence that the Summit will be able to meet those challenges. The premise of the article regarding Augie is that they probably aren't able to move and that the Summit likely wouldn't want or need them anyway.
  6. If it was the Bison that were blessed with the cupcake side of the bracket why was it JMU who almost -- and really should have -- lost?
  7. "Looked" terrible is exactly the point. NDSU is the reason they looked terrible. Despite the way they looked last night, Sam is a good FCS team. They likely would have hung a big number on this year's UND squad.
  8. I'd say your guards are more athletic but not necessarily "better.' I'd take miller over either of your starters. The rest of the NDSU's team is bigger, deeper, and more talented.
  9. Good grief, NDSU outscored UND by 31 points from the field. Without the huge disparity in free throws it likely would have been a blowout. Based on that single game, I'd say that NDSU has a much better balanced team than UND.
  10. Stuff happens. NDSU was only undefeated during the regular season once in its run of championships. NDSU will be favored if they play in Texas.
  11. Hard to win with 5 turnovers. Don't expect the same in Frisco (if both teams are there, of course).
  12. From what I saw yesterday, JMU won't make it past SDSU.
  13. Actually, I'm not blaming anything on UND. I highly doubt UND would have favored cutting scholarships in the first place. IMO, UND was one of the teams that, in the long-run, stood to be hurt by reducing DII scholarships. I was just pointing out that those who say that the NCAA reducing DII scholarships did not hurt teams like NDSU are wrong regardless of who may have been behind it.
  14. Recruits generally go to the most competitive school that offers them a scholarship. If you cut scholarships to all schools, some of the top players that would otherwise have accepted offers from top-level schools will end up at lower-level schools. This will tend to benefit lower-level schools at the expense of top--level schools. It ain't rocket science.
  15. Now, who's spread the BS? You barely beat 4-7 South Dakota.
  16. Spare the sarcasm. You know what I'm saying is true. No better than 4th place -- probably out of the playoffs.
  17. That team -- the best FCS team UND has ever produced -- wouldn't have come close to winning an MVFC title.
  18. More wishful thinking. At this point there's no reason to think UND will do better in the MVFC than it has in the GW and BSC. Until it proves otherwise, UND is a .500 team that occasionally does better.
  19. Of course, and there's also no guarantee that they would have won two more playoff games on the way to a championship, either. But that was the last game before they went on their run of championships. It's not much of a stretch to think that NDSU might have had 6 in a row.
  20. I think guilty of a little wishful thinking. They beat up on bad teams...so what?
  21. Exactly. My point is they never really were a "great" team. That was largely a scheduling illusion.
  22. I'd argue that their style of play was dictated by their personnel. In any case, their style of play hasn't changed. If it's unsustainable now, it was unsustainable all along.
  23. No, they had a one-man offense and a questionable defense all along. At this point, they're a bubble team needing a win against a better team to make the playoffs.
  24. My how things change in three weeks. Turns out I was spot on. USD is/was a paper tiger.
