This is not the way to learn these lessons. Look, a student at NDSU was just killed because of lack of judgement induced by the alcohol. This is not skipping class and getting a "D" on a test. This has life altering consequences.

If one of the group of intoxicated persons calls for medical reasons, he and a certain number (forget the exact number) of the other involved persons get immunity. However if an RA calls, since it his his job and etc., there is no immunity for anyone.

The RA is obligated (through his job and likely in this case because he believed it was the right thing to do as a person) to call 911 and the paramedics if he believes the situation is possibly life threatening. The RA did the right thing.
