  1. Are they serious in wanting $12 to read the story or was there something else I needed to do?
  2. There are season tickets available. However they are 1 seat here and there and in the upper bowl with bad sight lines (possibly lower as well). Do not expect tickets in the lower bowl as first they go to people around the section, then they go to other lower bowl people looking to move and finally they are offered to upper level people. But there is a line to get tickets. It just shows that UND hockey is really the biggest show in ND. I'd like to get the number of season ticket holders from outside EGF/GF. Incredible for a town our size!
  3. Thanks fro the great read. I totally agree! This in a nutshell is the problem with message boards. To easy to bash and call names without a signature for all to see as well. But...it's also an interesting message to people who think it's only high school or college kids that tend to go over the edge. The guy is 36 years old. Time to grow up, get a job and realize we're just fans supporting our programs.
  4. Hey Ray....Are you at the same lake or a friend?
  5. Here's my guess....possibly a rumor but I was told Bina signed with Edmonton. Didn't know he was in the hunt or even went to a camp with them. I'll "try" to run into them at the lake this weekend.
  6. Good Luck to you and your family. You're in our thoughts!
  7. I'm just amazed that these guys are coming back! I know some people on this board thought they'd be back but seriously turning down the money is hard to do. How many of us would turn down a job from a rival for double what we currently make....not many. These guys have tons of character and we're lucky to have them be involved in our community...even with some trouble. I've already planned on the D.C. trip and now we might even be able to watch our favorite team...doesn't get any better!! Thanks Dunc, Finley and Kozek!
  8. Yes...fair amount of space still left. Basically everything east of motel, gas station, and behind the strip mall. There are plenty of things still in the works. Also....phase III of the townhomes is in the loop somewhere. If anybody wants to look at something neat they are building a walking bridge (golf carts too) from phase I to phase II over the coulee. Nice feature many people won't even see or us.
  9. I was wondering the same thing. No word from our side, or the Capitals camp, friends, etc. Any ifo would be nice. I also agree with Fetch, he had a great year other than the most important last few weeks but we'd be crazy if we didn't want him back. Look at Lee.....he'll be in the NHL for many years and this board absolutely threw him under the bus.
  10. Yep, that's it! Thanks...
  11. Wasn't the same Toppers there though...even though same owner. That guy also owned the eating place on South Washington and maybe 20th Avenue. Both ended up going out of business at the same time I think. That might have been one of the first sports bars in GF...specialized in italian food?? What was the called??
  12. Ohhhh yea!!!. If only the school kids today had a hang-over place to go like that was!
  13. Don't think it's been bought unless it just hasn't closed yet. Since this is your first post you might have more of an in than I do. But at the price they were asking all I can say is WOW if it was sold. I've often wondered why it's hard to work at that location even with the 700 units with in a block. To go back even farther..does anyone remember when it was "Toppers"? Now...that was teh best burger you could ever get!!
  14. GREAT news!! Honestly...I thought he was 70% gone just because of the money he may have been offered.
  15. Don't follow all the HS sports but at the girls state track it sure seemed like South was dominating most of the running events along with having most of the entrants. They were fighting each other for top 3. Other than the jet from West Fargo who was smoking along in the hurdles. SHE was fast!
  16. As I read this I thought of Crookston. They went through an issue 8-10 years ago and built a new high school that was state of the art....but one they didn't need as enrollment was shrinking like everywhere else. So, the new one was built and the envy of all. Then they realized the heating costs were to high so they turned the heat down. Then, they realized how much time / money it took to do snow removel so they blocked off the westside of the parking lot during the winter. And then when costs couldn't be kept down anymore.....they let teachers go and blocked off areas of the school where the heat could be shut off. Classic stuff. Close to the County Jail stories we have here in Forks. Good to hear Fargo makes the same mistakes.
  17. WHAT???! Are you high? Jealous is an understatement for you....go back to Gopherville. And no I'm not his neighbor but I've met him a few times and he's a great guy with stand up character....unlike you.
  18. Yes and according to size and numbers Central has to many students which then go to RR and they are within few of requiring an addition as well. GFhockey..I am all sports but sports go in cycles. RR used to be football and Central was hockey just as RR has been king in golf but will have trouble fielding a team in JV next year so they'll be after some younger Central golfers. Always a fun little cycle with open enrollment. I for one really feel for the coaches who have to deal with these kids changing schools so easily.
  19. I completely agree Old School! IMO we do not need another high school as enrollment shrinks. However...there is quiet talk about wanting another as RR is growing and the housing is only going south. If I also heard correctly there is land near the middle school already designated and rough plans have been drawn. I agree with you on taxes and the whole point but as everyone in GF knows....if the people in power/control want it....it will come...even if we vote it down three times.
  20. Try Craigslist...on the site now and they have some decent ones for a good price.
  21. Good Point! And yes, most of the $250k plus homes are in RR district. RR has plenty of apartments in their distrit and that's the only way it somewhat balances out. Central has most of the lower priced homes due to the age. Interesting comments as we were just talking about this Friday night. Plus, more than a few RR kids go to Central because of athletics and less competition....not meaning less talent just less numbers. GF will build a new high school.
  22. I don't have a link but he's gone. I wish him and the other boys leaving the best! And while I'm at it I hope Hagemo get's his s**t together...he's got to much of a great future ahead of him.
  23. Yes, that's to bad! As you stated we were out of town for hockey. My son planned on having them sign his FF poster for the third year in a row.
  24. I have to say that though I don't agree with what "breakin face" has to say he sure has made me laugh allot sinc he joined. Give him time to catch up and figure out you can't post/write everything that comes to your mind. Wonder if he's counting his posts for today? And while I think AK will do fine wherever he goes.....we can all hope it's just not a year early because for every Zajac there's a Roche, Bayda (even though he's now in the NHL) , etc waiting in the wings thinking it's their time.
