  1. Now imagine if the 5 kids from Central played Bantams this year....2 forwards and 3 D added to those two teams. I don't think they split up the Fargo kids..put them all together for bantams. Not sure about Shanley getting a team. And If you want to even go further down the pipeline the Fargo Squirt A teams cancelled all their games against GF Squirt A teams this year.
  2. I think Fargo has more kids than GF...at least 4 of the Davies or South kids are in Kansas City (think that's it) and another two are in Omaha..one on the major team and one on the minor team GF has 3 from RR and 1 from Central.....this is just from memory but it gives you an idea. I don't know about Bismarck, Mandan, Minot Grafton Etc. Jade Miller could have gone to the USHL last year but chose to stay for his senior season.
  3. Not arguing...WF HS team was young this year and had a good run...will be fun to watch in the next few years! And Minot played well too so who knows how it'll all turn out.
  4. I wouldn't say that but let's see if GF can produce players that go on to play college hockey...like some of the local kids who are now doing it. I applaud what the THA is doing with the selects and hope that will produce kids who move on to the next level.
  5. Uh no their not...In the bantam level the 2 GF teams are hands down the best....one of them is even 5 times better than the other. And that's with 5 bantams that played for Central this year. Add them to the list and it's terrible. On the Pee Wee level you can add in a Fargo team and that's it...again no competition. Personal opinion only but GF should make one AA team for bantam and pee wee and head to MN and leave the other A team to play in ND...now fire away : )
  6. That's what happened with the Mandan kid I think!
  7. It had nothing to do with the Blues/Supras...that just happened 2 years ago now. The reason they shut the doors was because of USA Hockey rules and couldn't get insurance. It's an ok thing though...the Blues had 1 team per age and the Supras had 2 teams, not enough for everyone. RR is down this year and The west just has some players but like someone said if Christian and Benson were there it would have been different but that's all over....Fargo's missing Mari and at least 4-5 others. Bismarck will be hard to beat as they've got a Mandan kid and Dickinson kid they imported plus maybe 8 seniors. Kids are leaving. Hard to believe Johnson lasted until his senior year.
  8. I predict Central...plays the same way as Bismarck...gritty and tough..coached by Grant Paranica a former Sioux player. And Casey Johnson is a senior who has a chance to play up another level.
  9. Looking for 3 tickets to Fri. game...any section as long as price is reasonable. Thanks!
  10. It's funny to read about this as my son and I just had this conversation and also looked at the rosters on the website to see the ND kids. I'm curious though...how many of the ND kids actually play at each school?
  11. Well now Tjamz...your personal story was a great read for a Monday morning!! Gave me a belly laugh for a while. Moral of the story for me....when you think you've got it bad....someone always has it worse. Good luck with your kid, career and maybe the wife.
  12. I was kidding by the way...I know I was getting bored by the lack of rumors/news...but not now.
  13. Ohhh Boy....way to start a fire storm on yur first post. And who thought the summer rumors would be boring?
  14. True to form GF will do nothing. Unlike Fargo...GF can not make the hard decisions. Look at the $500,000 study on the elementary schools an then leave that the same. As much as I dislike Fargo I admire that they make the hard decision and let it be. GF is to worried about the neighbors and if they'll be re-elected to the board. RR will continue to dominate this town. In the next few years Central will make it interesting though but as this person said....they growth is going south and into RR district. GF should make boundries but won't because the mucky mucks want it left status quo.
  15. I was kidding...it's nice to see local kids playing a variety of sports at the collegiate level. Not just UND and not just hockey. Just look at Taylor Steen playing at Indiana St for baseball..perfect example.
  16. Come on Goon...gotta follow the local Grand Forks sports now that you're a part of the reporter profession. Lots of good local kids going to UND for a variety of sports.
  17. I thought I was told it was an age thing like he was to old for that level now...he's a good kid. And I think R.R.
  18. Yes...coming back to GF this year though
  19. My son is in the 8th grade and I had to explain what all of this means. Also to the person above every town has the haves and have nots...it doesn't matter where you live...in house..in an apt. or in a trailer court
  20. These kids are in 9th grade...they made a stupid mistake and it's being dealt with. If this is the worst thing these kids ever do then the parents have done a wonderful job. I know these three kids on a personal level and all three are good kids. They made a mistake just like all of us have done..maybe a bigger mistake but a mistake none the less.
  21. And..not that it's a big deal but majority of the middle school kids will be at church group..Castaway...at least the attendance will be reasonable with these other things going on.
  22. My son played against the Patrick kid in Winnipeg this summer and he's really good for his age...he's taller than most so he'll probably fill out his frame. Smooth skater.
  23. [quote name='scpa0305' timestamp='1338997707' post='563915 ] Ha ha, yes it does (from experience).
  24. I'll take them...I sent you a message....give me a call please
