I don't think this was predicted/expected when the tv deal was signed....wasn't muss's contract extended close to the same time?

I understand it's not changing any time soon. And aren't Saturday afternoon's considered prime time for college football? NBC has a deal with Notre dame worth big bucks. How many of their games have been pre-empted for bison football? The way it sounds to me is ndsu negotiated higher exposure by paying for it. Und just went for the payday.

Bison are also getting games on fcs/espnu/fox sports one so it's not only in North Dakota. Bison football also is nationwide in hd with an Fta system(in line with maybe 4 out of 5 fbs programs).

They're airing more than six games....they are also doing 4 away games this year for ndsu football, all pre-emptingregular programming. Also they announced last week that they'd air at least ten ndsu men's/women's bball games as well - most on their me tv channel and a couple also being on the NBC channel. You also need to remember that forum puts up the cw channel which could be pre-empted if needed, like hoak is using me tv. Maybe it's not possible. But this is what bugs me today. Ndsu football exposure bypassing und hockey.

I can't say for sure because I don't know. I do know there was a satellite truck on the south end of the Ralph that you won't see there any longer.

Good for you. Wdaz produced the broadcast for years. Just saying they are capable of putting the signal up there minus maybe a few hd cameras and a few other pieces of equipment. Fta or not.

I realize more equipment would be necessary at the Ralph. But does forum communications not own a hd satellite truck? I don't know the answer but I do know that I have found their news feeds Fta on location in hd. So if they don't have the ability to uplink to satellite in hd themselves they have paid a company to uplink for them. Fact is you cannot claim they were not capable.

Hope he has fun playing in kent. Got to attend a game there a couple weeks back and they play in front of a feisty/fun crowd. And also ran into 4 other Sioux fans!

I didn't make it to the Vermont series, but for the Sunday night game vs Manitoba there was more on-street parking available east of the Ralph. Past few years the city has not allowed parking on certain sides of streets and they didn't have any signs up(when I parked before the Manitoba game at least). Personally I prefer parking off the street east of the Ralph because how quick you can get out of there after a game.

Nice! Anyone know of any bars doing the webcast? Grand forks or out of the area? I believe rumors in gf has picked up the webcast in the past. And I heard sensers in Bloomington did this weekend.

It may sound simple. But between my friends and family maybe 30% are watching online or on midco and 70% are not watching at all, when 100% of them watched on tv in recent seasons of the past. Not sure how viewership nationwide overall is affected but it must be down:/

I can't answer all your questions because I'm not in the know as to how these decisions went down. What I do know is that I have many friends and family members out of the area that no longer have the access to und hockey that they did in the past. Some of them are jumping through the multiple hoops to access the online stream. Most of them aren't. Just don't expect everyone to be content with the situation.
