The problem is that we have government officials still encouraging these gatherings.

What’s frustrating is we have so many politicians that have delayed and continue to delay preparation. Experts have been warning us this is coming and we still have Burgum claiming we will act on facts rather than fear.

Problem is drastic measures were not immediately taken in those countries. Our government had a chance to learn what was going on in countries it had previously hit and we ignored those warnings. Our own president said that 15 cases would turn to zero about a week ago. And now the world is dealing with a pandemic, the US is under a federal emergency, and almost everything is shut down. And we have our governer still going with facts over fear statements. People are freaking out because our government has failed us and we cannot trust them.

Thankfully Baesler isn’t locked up so she was able to assist in this decision and fact finding efforts!

How many in the United States have been tested? If you go in with flu symptoms you are tested for the flu. The only way you can be tested for the Coronavirus right now is if you have had contact with someone infected/travelled to one of the hotspot countries AND are showing symptoms. We could go on about why there is a shortage of test kits available right now and politically I don’t think you are going to like the reason. The reality is we haven’t had the test kits available so action is now being taken.

World Health Organization has declared it a pandemic. While 99% of North Dakota residents think it’s a hoax.

CDC estimates the flu has 34 million cases and 20,000 deaths. They also are estimating the death rate for the Coronavirus at 3.5% and I understand this number isn’t 100% accurate as we don’t have the proper tools to even test people yet. But it’s the CDC’s estimate today which says the Coronavirus has a death rate 70 times that of the flu. You’d think the US could have learned from china’s mistake by letting this thing spread rampantly for a month before taking any action. If you are sick please do us all a favor and stay home!

Wouldn’t winter classic ice be better than most sheets of ice played in college hockey? I know the sight lines in outdoor games aren’t the best. But with Dave St Peter pushing for a game in the past, I think this is a game UND should be looking into securing. Whether it’s umn as an opponent or someone else.

I can see that. Pick your poison! I still think Sanford beats altru hands down. At least they offer the specialties. They also have a state of the art facility right now. Their food is better. And they have free valet parking. You mentioned abuse of volunteers.l but in my experience they make much better use of their volunteers at Sanford where altru counts on volunteers to deliver food in their cancer center...:.these are paid positions in Fargo. The reality is you cannot use altru as a one stop shop because eventually you are going to have something that is over their head when at least Sanford will have the specialist you need.

So you can ask for a transfer! Seriously though I appreciate that Altru can keep some patients local. But many patients are too complex for Altru, they just don’t have the specialists and thankfully they usually accept the fact that they can’t be something that they aren’t, usually! And my gripe about their food is 100% real. Anyone that’s spent some time as inpatient knows that altru’s food is horrid. Go check out Sanford and their 3 different cafe options, not so horrible they need to hide them in the basement. For most people that reason alone is enough. Personally I’ve had good and bad experiences with altru and will use them for as much as possible. Unfortunately that equals less than half of my family’s care because they don’t have the appropriate resources. So it’s my opinion US World report should really take back their best hospital in ND award.

It’s still laughable that altru could be chosen to be the best hospital in the state when they offer a fraction of the services available at Sanford.

US news and world report obviously didn’t come eat at altru. seriously best hospital in North Dakota? They don’t offer half of what Sanford can.
