  1. https://www.thedickinsonpress.com/news/government-and-politics/5018387-Child-care-providers-to-receive-financial-help-through-emergency-grants The childcare centers can't get milk or bread, but they can get grants to run at full capacity and encourage families to keep bringing in their kids so they can keep getting out to work. Someone's looking for a pat on the back by the president.
  2. Sorry but I'm not going to share my source for their own protection. With that said, please share your source of hospital and nursing home execs that claim they have no shortage of any PPE, meds, and cleaning supplies?
  3. Maybe your connected friends are more worried about their money than understanding their supply chains?
  4. Nice. Looks like we’ve got this under control. Now let’s get 216 plus congressmen in one room to vote!
  5. Nah I’m just relieved we live in the non affected middle west farm belt. Where our hospitals and nursing homes can’t even obtain bleach wipes to keep patients safe. But let’s open things up eh? I’d like to know what facts would you use to justify opening up daycares, encouraging everyone to get back to work, and opening our state up?
  6. After Burgum’s announcement yesterday to order ND daycares to stay open I expect ND to open back up soon. Thanks a lot brown nose Burgum. You make Trump so happy.
  7. Not good. Doesn’t make trump encouraging it a couple weeks ago any better though.
  8. Thankfully we have this thing called the affordable care act eh?
  9. Interesting stat...feel free to fact check.... Percentage of COVID hospitalizations per capita North Dakota - 1 in 69,000 Minnesota - 1 in 136,500 new York- 1 in 5,000
  10. Are they lying? OR What are they doing differently?
  11. We have states trending that direction. And others getting closer. And not one state has taken the draconian measures that other countries have taken to slow the spread. The longer our government keeps brushing this off, the longer citizens will continue to do the same unfortunately.
  12. It's too bad she didn't get Burgum's memo of "Facts over Fear"
  13. You know as well as I that the parroting line is a joke. It would’ve made more sense if we could test people and use some actual facts in the decision making process. We we don’t have resources that Minnesota has in the U of M. But we do know we are on the same path as them. So we should at least be parroting their shelter in place orders.
  14. Should they resuscitate patients? It’s frightening to know that if you are hospitalized due to Coronavirus and you code, you may not get intubated now. Just as frightening that as this gets worse more and more hospitals will be considering this.
  15. Interesting This tells me what I was afraid of. Most people in North Dakota aren’t taking this seriously. Most have the attitude that it can’t happen here. The government is urging people to stay home but there is no rule in place so non essential businesses are staying open to try stay afloat and people aren’t taking this seriously so are going on about their business. Doug Burgum said yesterday we are right on par with Minnesota’s rate of infection/hospitalizations on a per capita basis. Minnesota is expecting to not have enough ICU beds and not enough vents. There is a nationwide shortage on a number of medications and medical supplies. The storm is coming here and we need to get prepared. Make the call Burgum.
  16. Gotta agree I’m not sure how much this will change things in mn. Can Mafiaman still get his oil changed? As far as I can see, this doesn’t even require malls to shut down.
  17. I'll be happy to provide specific examples to anyone the pm's me. Not going to go public with it, sorry. 15 relatives would be above the recommended groups below 10:) I don't want to see martial law, but if it would save lives I might be temporarily for it. I'd get your oil changed while you can, but that's just me. Sorry about your commissions, mine are taking a hit as well but I'm adjusting as good as I can.
  18. Is Trump's estimate of thousands of deaths by suicide not based on fear?
  19. How am I hypocritical in my mind, in your mind?
  20. The thing is though, they do need the government to enforce a shelter in place. Do you know of anyone who cannot have a transplant now because the hospital system is already overloaded? How about someone that cannot have a life saving surgery to remove a tumor? How about a cancer patient that cannot have their scheduled life saving scans until this slows down further? There's much more to this than keeping the elderly and those with underlying conditions home. We are where we are now, and the only thing we can do to make things better is by catching up and flattening the curve.
  21. I hope the next 17 are kinder to me:) Your 50,000 deaths from Corona is way off according to the experts and none of us will ever know what the numbers shoulda/coulda been if......
  22. Trump predicted thousands of suicide deaths though. The expert reports I've been seeing predict hundreds of thousands of deaths to those with underlying conditions. Yes this includes the 90 year old with COPD. It also affects a majority of those 65 and up. It affects the 40 year old with diabetes. It affects the 30 year old with a BMI over 25. It affects a 20 year old with asthma. And it also affects a four year old girl in remission from cancer.
  23. You'd rather see hundreds of thousands of innocent people with an underlying condition die?
