I don’t think most are trying to make this a political hay. I am unhappy about the lack of steps that have been taken to protect US citizens, including my family.

Instead of actually taking measures to protect US citizens, he was out calling out democrats and the media as this being their new hoax. And you see no problems with that? The delay of preventing international flights coming into our country allowed more infected people to come in. In my opinion more incoming flights should have been prevented and much earlier. And no I wouldn’t have been upset if we accepted the test kits that were offered by the WHO. But the cat is now out of the bag. It’s here and it has spread more than we know. The lengths you are going to defend your political views are laughable. I understand this is not a political site so maybe you should set your political views aside and look at what is best to protect your family right now and I will do the same.

Ideally everyone in public should be wearing a mask at this point. This Isnt to protect you but rather everyone around you. The problem is there has been very poor planning by our leaders for months so this isn’t possible.

Health care professionals hands have been tied be many politicians.

Burgum just said yesterday that state will act on fact and not fear. It’s a misleading statement and encourages North Dakotans to live their life as if we are not under a federal emergency. Also I’m not suggesting martial law...we need some of these politicians to swallow their damn pride.

The problem is that we have government officials still encouraging these gatherings.

What’s frustrating is we have so many politicians that have delayed and continue to delay preparation. Experts have been warning us this is coming and we still have Burgum claiming we will act on facts rather than fear.

Problem is drastic measures were not immediately taken in those countries. Our government had a chance to learn what was going on in countries it had previously hit and we ignored those warnings. Our own president said that 15 cases would turn to zero about a week ago. And now the world is dealing with a pandemic, the US is under a federal emergency, and almost everything is shut down. And we have our governer still going with facts over fear statements. People are freaking out because our government has failed us and we cannot trust them.

How many in the United States have been tested? If you go in with flu symptoms you are tested for the flu. The only way you can be tested for the Coronavirus right now is if you have had contact with someone infected/travelled to one of the hotspot countries AND are showing symptoms. We could go on about why there is a shortage of test kits available right now and politically I don’t think you are going to like the reason. The reality is we haven’t had the test kits available so action is now being taken.
