  1. Trump attacked Obama for golfing On Memorial Day weekend and trump does the same and also acts like a child on twitter and people are running to his defense. Cant even make this stuff up, at least we all get some entertainment out of all of this.
  2. I agree there should be no reason. But then we have this... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/mattperez/2020/05/21/trump-refuses-to-wear-a-face-mask-during-tour-of-ford-facility-in-michigan/amp/ and this... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1195611 who has politicized mask wearing?
  3. https://www.grandforksherald.com/newsmd/coronavirus/6504545-Gov.-Burgum-fights-back-tears-at-daily-press-conference-talking-about-wearing-masks Gov Burgum, you made my day yesterday. Thank you for not being afraid of crossing party lines and showing some empathy.
  4. Really? Ok I understand you were tired, but you really believe this is all to save one person? The US has lost almost 100,000 lives over a two month period.
  5. What is asinine about having the same standard for counting covid infections and deaths from state to state? Maybe if we didn't put a dog breeder in in to lead the pandemic task force? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-usa-hhschief-speci/special-report-former-labradoodle-breeder-was-tapped-to-lead-u-s-pandemic-task-force-idUSKCN2243CE
  6. If only there was some sort of leadership that would have set a standard for all states. In other news some states have been found to be under-counting covid deaths... https://komonews.com/news/local/state-epidemiologists-covid-19-related-deaths-likely-being-undercounted-in-wa
  7. Why because he was shamed into doing it?
  8. This season’s ND flu stats can be seen here... http://www.ndflu.com/ im not the person who decides how many deaths are acceptable. I’d be curious how many you think would be considered unacceptable.
  9. We’re not losing 1500 Americans daily from the flu.
  10. The drive thru rule seems odd to most of us North Dakotans. But have you ever tried using the drive thru at McDonald’s in dinkeytown during the school year (before covid)?
  11. We could ask the guy from economic development call and check on the situation. He has the best relationship with the plant manager so sounds like a great plan. Seriously though? Stop packing people into places like sardines. Provide and require ppe to be used. Maybe even require the sick to stay home rather than encouraging them to come in to work. Mask wearing could go a long way too, but that might infringe on people’s civil liberties.
  12. How’d you come up with 99.7 because the death rate from the LM infection was worse? And how many more vulnerable were infected and have passed because of those avoidable outbreaks?
  13. We could start by working to eliminate the outbreaks at large gatherings and plants. But that drum’s getting too old to beat on.
  14. Totally reasonable and I agree. But with covid you could be asymptomatic, so extra measures should be taken.
  15. guns come with background checks, cars come with speed limits and seat belts, alcohol comes with limits you can’t drive drunk and you can’t be an idiot in public, tobacco well there’s an age limit, there’s such thing as burn bans when it’s windy, there’s lifeguards at pools, and you there’s times you don’t want to swim in the ocean when the sharks are in right? Would you like to see seatbelts removed from vehicles? How about no speed limits on the road? Get rid of the age limit on tobacco or let Marlboro start marketing to kids again? Lessened dui penalties?
  16. Was LM wind providing safe conditions? Smithfield? How about Tyson?
  17. Would you consider your right to be out without a mask a civil liberty? Your right to socialize in a bar? How about your right to operate a business with a high number of employees in unsafe conditions? Even if all of the above are liberties, considering the situation shouldn’t we just do the right thing? Those patriots you mention gave up their liberties so we could have them. Why do we have the me first attitude now? We have 1500 people per day dying from covid right now in our country and many are a little concerned of what this number will look like a month from now. How many covid deaths per day is suitable before we start scaling back again?
  18. There’s plenty that could be done to protect them, but some choose to blatantly disregard these safeguards as their civil liberties are more important.
  19. Maybe because we are failing at protecting them? No $hit it’s not working, so what do you suggest is done about it?
  20. What are we doing now? Apparently we are all vulnerable, no?
  21. Have you seen what Spain has found with their antibody testing? They are figuring 5% of their population has been infected and their death rate per capita exceeds the US. In other words, this could suck for a long time.
  22. Trumps been on the hydroxy for ten days to prevent covid. Seems a little crazy considering the side effects.
  23. Got ya beat I just witnessed an an elderly male screaming at a nurse at altru saying he is entering without wearing a mask.
  24. Not picking and choosing. The topic of the thread is covid19 and it’s been pointed out many times here that this virus doesn’t kill those 65 and under. unfortunately in this case it did kill a 31 year old Polk county resident that many in the community know either him or his family personally.
  25. Condolences to the LM employee in his thirties that passed from covid.
