Would you consider your right to be out without a mask a civil liberty? Your right to socialize in a bar? How about your right to operate a business with a high number of employees in unsafe conditions? Even if all of the above are liberties, considering the situation shouldn’t we just do the right thing? Those patriots you mention gave up their liberties so we could have them. Why do we have the me first attitude now? We have 1500 people per day dying from covid right now in our country and many are a little concerned of what this number will look like a month from now. How many covid deaths per day is suitable before we start scaling back again?

There’s plenty that could be done to protect them, but some choose to blatantly disregard these safeguards as their civil liberties are more important.

Have you seen what Spain has found with their antibody testing? They are figuring 5% of their population has been infected and their death rate per capita exceeds the US. In other words, this could suck for a long time.

No. Can you say that every covid death has been identified? Can you also provide some details where deaths are currently being counted as covid without a test? and for the ND stats an easy place to check is is the ND DOH site, they list the deaths from covid vs deaths with covid.

I don’t know how deaths were reported then either but to say that covid deaths are being counted differently from flu deaths is another misnomer, yet this misinformation continues to be spread to push an agenda.

Our population is 66% greater than 1968. But covid19 is on currently on pace to be 500% more deadly than the Hong Kong flu was to US residents. The writer might as well have been comparing osteosarcoma to rhinovirus.

So people just died ten years earlier 50 years back and skipped the comorbodities? If that makes you feel better about comparing the severity of the Hong Kong flu to be worse than covid19 fine, whatever floats your boat. the reality is the Hong Kong flu killed about the same amount of Americans as our annual flue does. covid19 is about to kill more us citizens in 5 months than the Hong Kong flu did over 2.5 years.

Huh? Writer is comparing the Hong Kong flu that killed 100,000 Americans over 2.5 years to covid19 that has killed almost 90,000 in 4 months. Not a very good example to prove the point he’s trying to make, but some will buy into it I guess!
