  1. Make that decision for yourself. It's too bad that your poor decisions will affect others. Don't be that guy - Pence at Mayo.
  2. Hugo’s also has signs up asking everyone that enters to wear a mask. From my observation, 50% were wearing masks on saturday when I was on 32nd. The thing is none of us really know what the acceptable threshold is. We do know that it has killed almost 70k in the US with most of those deaths occurring in under a month of time. And those who die with it are dying on average of ten years before their expected time. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/coronavirus-kills-people-an-average-of-a-decade-before-their-time-11588424401
  3. We have a long ways to go before we are to a point of there being more tests than those that want a test. In ND they are mass testing at nursing homes. To protect residents some of the long term care facilities are even paying their staff to be tested.
  4. I sure would hope an identified asymptomatic carrier would isolate themselves. As far as I can tell they'd be committing a class b misdemeanor in ND if they didn't. I know we can't stop people from acting recklessly but the government can and should be taking measures to limit reckless behavior. To encourage compliance I would hope the government could assist to make sure this is do-able and that person would be eligible for some paid leave from work or unemployment benefits.
  5. Um testing does matter because if you test positive the government will order you to isolate to prevent you from sharing the virus with others. If you live in ND..... https://www.legis.nd.gov/cencode/t23c07-6.pdf
  6. Such a refreshing place to come and learn about republican politics.
  7. No interest in digging further. I also don't think the hospitals are who we should be trying to pick apart right now.
  8. You could always go on twitter and say you are hearing these things and ask for people to send you reports or evidence.
  9. NY Times gave Grand Forks and Fargo some attention today. Both communities show up in the Highest avg. daily growth rate of cases.... https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/23/upshot/five-ways-to-monitor-coronavirus-outbreak-us.html?action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage I don't know how trustful this info is as they are counting 20 deaths for Fargo in their Highest avg. daily growth rate of deaths chart.
  10. Busted! Deep State!
  11. I know I'm defending Trump here. He's not the moron. Even if he was, he'd never admit it:)
  12. Could we start with the two gun slingers pictured in this article? https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2020/04/coronavirus-protests/610363/ Or maybe the 150 people in Bismarck earlier this week seen standing shoulder to shoulder, shaking hands, and talking into loudspeakers into 40 mile per hour winds? Maybe it was too windy for them to hear this but the president never asked them to liberate North Dakota.
  13. Trump's not the moron. It's his fish tank cleaning, chloriquine ingesting, liberation protesting followers that can lay claim to this name.
  14. Does this even crack the the top ten most ridiculous statements made by our president over the past three months?
  15. In her case they are sedated scans, so maybe its the meds or the vent needed.
  16. So let's start scheduling regular visits and elective surgeries again. I know of someone that has had her post-cancer treatment scans delayed two months so far because of this and she'd like to get this taken care of to make sure the cancer has not returned.
  17. In ND I believe daycare facilities are allowed to be fully open. Most are smaller so not as big of a problem but I think the larger ones could pose some problems.
  18. The nursing homes appear to be scrambling to figure out how to prevent the infections from entering their facilities. Thankfully ND was one of the four states that will have mass testing at long term care facilities to weed out asymptomatic carriers. Even though we don't believe this is harmful to kids you still can't allow schools to become covid petri dishes. This would spread to all students' families since you can't isolate kids from their parents. We still need more PPE but with mass testing/contact tracing/quarantines for infected, schools should finally be allowed to open.
  19. Never said that!
  20. I'm still trying to figure out the LM debacle in Grand Forks. Employees were filing complaints with the city weeks before the closure. The mayor assigned the EDC director to investigate. What does the EDC know about public and worker health? Why was this shrugged off with a single phone call to LM saying all is well. How is our government at every level completely unprepared for anything thrown at them?
  21. If we are going to begin to open things up in the state we need to have the capacity to contract trace and test. Yeah this is on the general public to get tested if you show symptoms but if there is contract tracing to be done we need to get it done.
  22. In the Grand Forks area if they are truly using contact tracing there will be a ton of people to test. 900 LM employees, all of their family members, and contacts from the past few weeks. I suspect some are a little overwhelmed and the fact that people aren't getting tested on their own means more work ahead for the dept of health.
  23. Yeah it seemed a little odd, and then he encouraged people to press their providers to get them tested if they want to be tested. If the testing resources are available, why aren't more LM people getting tested? Why hasn't the mass testing at the state's long term care facilities started yet?
  24. Anyone notice that Burgum granted local leaders authority to quarantine or set restrictions yesterday? I didn't realize they couldn't already do this, but it doesn't matter, now they have the authority. I'm curious what sparked this change. Were local leaders asking for this?
  25. CDC is testing nursing homes for asymptomatic carriers in four states, ND is one of them. https://apple.news/ALUwIbcIYSGGGJG8GKkKzNw
