Western the better team that period
-
camera work is pretty bad.

The dancing Bronco on my screen.
Only a little less awful than cc's floating tiger heads
-
The only thing I dread about student productions is inexperienced cameramen. Hockey can be impossible to watch if the cameraman zooms in too close is always chasing around to follow the puck.

Do they do a OoTTCoS?
Out of Town Traditional Circle of Sticks.

Not arguing with you, but we don't see and hear everything that happens on the ice. The General is the policeman for this team. Maybe there's a method to his madness.
Yes, I'll give you that.
-
Didn't Pattyn get the box twice last night? I hope he takes a look at Stecher's goal and realizes his penchant for penalties comes at a cost. Great guy to have on the team, but he's gotta cut down on box time.
-
AND...the identity of this year's team is hardly that of physical intimidation...especially on the blueline. Its a different look UND team than years past
And I'm good with that. Let the other teams win the scrums while we win the point battles.
-
Nope, but I didn't send one after last Saturday's game either.
Andy Murray had every right to blow a gasket last night.
Only listened on the radio, but TH clearly felt the penalty should have been called which would have prevented Stecher's goal.

I completely disagree. We dominated Western 5 on 5 in the third period. They couldn't move the puck in their zone until they were a man up and goalie gone.
I think we played well. A couple of good bounces went our way, sure, but we showed a shutdown game in the third.
Listening to TH, I kept expecting the Western onslaught to happen in the third, but the puck just wasn't in our end much. Would have been nice to get the SO for Zane, but there are much bigger fish to fry.
Was it a clean 2-on-0 Parks failed to convert?

This is a very good UND team--such mobility on D, and good forwards up and down the lineup. But they sure miss a lot of prime scoring opportunities, and that's one thing that is so satisfying about getting Boeser.

Seeing the Frenchy's mug on your posts brings back some good memories.
-
I wish Pattyn could figure out a way to play physical without spending so much time in the box.
-
Not ringing any bells...
Wasn't he a goalie?
Played for the North Stars. Didn't go to UND, though.

For those who have been attending Western games, how are their fans? I have to think they are probably genuine hockey fans who can enjoy a beer and some hockey talk.
-
An OBVIOUS no goal, I don't even see a puck anywhere near anything that resembles a net (Immense sarcasm intended). I had intent to blow my whistle just watching it! Also loving the body slam in the crease!
Obvious blown call, but you stand in the blue trying to score with a loose puck and the goalie down at your feet, you get body slammed. That's The Code.

I don't think anyone is heartily arguing that Western isn't a good team. My belief, as I think most think, is that we are better. Regardless of what any of us think, the boys will take them very seriously.
Agree with all that. But with the level of parity in college hockey these days, a couple of pipes or deflections can be the difference in just about any game.
-
This Western team can be dangerous, despite their record.
-
If you grow up in the Twin Cities it's pretty natural to be a Gopher fan just like you would be with the Twins or Vikings regardless of where you chose to get your higher education.
That's a fair point
-
Since they frozen four is so important, I think they should have shootouts after one period of OT, then let each team use three alumni for shooters. UND? Oh, I don't know . . .
-
Pretty sad that there are so many referring issues that we can't keep them straight.
t
Must be a software program for this. If not, there will soon will be at some NCHC school.

Yet he still signaled a goal on ice before the review, cool....
The guy behind the net? At what point did he signal goal?
-
I agree, and even more strange, the replay shows him bending over the net, looking exactly where Gaarder is pointing. Lends credence to the comment that pucks aren't in Braille.
It's one of those mysterious time-delay things. They didn't see the puck bouncing around in the net until time was about to expire in OT.

I was about to admit I was wrong on this penalty deal til I remembered that you guys are completely full of shyt
SIOUX @ Western Michigan - SATURDAY Gameday
in Men's Hockey

True, but Western is really attacking, and I have a feeling the Sioux will get some odd man rush chances if Western doesn't score pretty soon.
