Hawks @ Dogs - NCHC opener - right the ship or sink further into the abyss?
burd replied to brianvf's topic in Men's Hockey
Sandy can't continue being a loser--he's too much of a coaching genius. Dogs will be up 15 early in the third before the hosts show mercy and go straight time. He's that good. -
I'll bet they can only get canadian money, where a quarter ain't worth a dime . . .

Emery seems to have some fire in his belly. -
Ironic that some here are eager to judge the season now yet claim they won't judge the season after the last conference game has been played, including conference playoffs. The banner is the only real metric.
-
Not able to watch, but T.H. seems to think UND has played pretty well. But three goals allowed on the first 5 shots . . .
-
Denver has too much talent and good coaching to hit a wall when they start playing tougher teams (UND). But they would probably not have the record they have had they played UND's opponents. One thing, though. Carle is smart enough to let his boys drop one or two against UND to make sure they don't win the Penrose, something Berry hasn't figured out yet.

But you are comfortable with mediocrity and refuse to be critical.

They definitely should -
I don't care who we lose to in conference if it helps us lose the Penrose. I can finally see that it's just a Rope-a-Dope tactic by messrs Carle and Sandelin.

gfhockey is on his way to Cowichan Bay as we speak to get him to decommit and choose Duluth. Has to hitch hike, though, so we have 4 or 5 days.

Not your bad. i just have a hard time being literal. Still the immature bonehead.

What does a guy have to do; identify satire in bold?
-
No kidding. Something about this sucks.
-
Denver must have passed on him. I haven't seen it in winter, but Cowichan Bay is beautiful in summer. But man, that kid and his family have taken their share of ferry rides to get to this point.
-
Really? Which ones?

File this with all those other hockey things I don't know, but wouldn't a former goalie have good insight on what to do to beat a goalie on a breakaway? What I'm saying is, "Wilbur, make sure you get travel time."
-
Let me hold on to my memory of what DW or GJ could do with a puck rather than what I'm likely to see an old man do (who's probably concentrating on not falling down).
-
The team played very well last night, but fans won't see 4 goals in the first 6 shots again in their lifetimes. There's not an 8-goal difference between last night's team and the one that lost to Mankato last Saturday.

It’ll be interesting to see what transpires in Denver tonight.

Hope it goes well. I had a 12mm stone surgically removed two months ago. Surgery was fine--still had to pass fragments for a couple of days. Good luck, FS4L.
-
Passing one? If so, some movement/exertion is good. It'll still hurt like hell, though. If it's a big or sharp stone, you probably have pain killers. A Sioux sweep would kill all your pain.

Yeah but. Flyover Grindahs v. Coastie Chippahs? No way. Ask any broadcasting crew that ever worked the FF. The UND Ledgies already have the cliche' complaints loaded and ready to send. Watch the World Series. Go out for Chinese. Do laundry. And if you absolutely must put some money down on this? If the over/under is less than 25, pick the over.

I was weaned on Earl Anderson, Jim Cahoon, Alan Hangsleben et al. Familiar names from the '70 team: Kleven (Red Lake Falls), Johnson (GF), Nelson (Warroad), Duncan (Calgary), and good ol' Tim O'keefe. I don't know the relationships between those names in later players.

Parise fits both.
