  1. Yeah, come to think of it, things were pretty gummed up last night.
  2. We haven't seen many soft goals so far this season. Three tonight.
  3. Wow. Blais gets swept by Western Michigian, swept at home by Denver, and now beaten at home by Miami. Hot seat in Omaha?
  4. We know you're frustrated, but really?
  5. I don't mind Hammer, but he's obviously not loaded up top, Cliché prone. Tonight virtually everything is about breaking scoring droughts.
  6. Hammer and Jake must be burning one--they got the giggles.
  7. That's just for the bunnies.
  8. Pretty hard to argue against that group. Jones was one of my favorite pure defensemen we've had.
  9. Boy, when you look at our lineup to see how they we will fill injury holes and you see those 6 Dmen, you realize how loaded we are on the blue line. I don't remember a 6-man crew this good. Maybe better 2 or 3, but not the whole crew, IMO.
  10. I hope we don't get gutted this summer. UND always reloads, but a lot could happen.
  11. Not only that. One of the things we know we need is more scoring from other lines. If Caggiula and Schmaltz are out, others will have to deliver for them to win. What better time could that happen than early in the second half with 4 home games against bottom tier opponents? We know any team can beat any other team on any given night (and CC seems to be playing a much better game after a disastrous start), but still . . . if you were to pick a time for this to happen, this isn't bad.
  12. Now that you mention it, you and I could do that job. Well . . . you maybe.
  13. Doubtful is definitely good news. That guy is hugely important to our long term success
  14. Seems like it should be quicker for hockey players, since they don't have to raise their arms above their shoulders very often and can strap that arm down a little closer. That is an uneducated, unqualified observation, needless to say.
  15. Worth noting also that CC only lost 2-1 in the other game at Cloud. Bad idea to underestimate any team in this conference.
  16. Speaking of Deano, did they retire that green blazer of his or did it end up at a garage sale somewhere? And does he have an (whatever color it is) equivalent at UNO?
  17. Thanks, Goon. It's really nice to wake up to these.
  18. Yeah, separated shoulder not so bad for a hockey player as for Fball or Bball. Cross your fingers; this guy counts.
  19. Ouch. They have that nice rink and not team to watch.
  20. Cagguila looked like a collar bone
  21. Who was it that said UNO is the worst team we've played since Wisco? A little out of control, but an entertaining period of hockey
  22. I hope you are right. I realize the boys had an off night last night, but I thought UNO skated with us and beat us to a ton of pucks. Whether that is speed or hustle or just a good game plan, I don't know, but they have the look of a team that could cause trouble in late March. But if they can fall from 3 to 14 or 15 in the pairwise, I'll be happy. I just don't expect it.
  23. Given that this team has won 20 games and lost 2 of their 3 losses against the teams you identify as the worst (outside Huntsville), together with the fact that UNO is 3rd in the pairwise rankings, it's hard to find a shred of objective support for that statement.
  24. Is there a place to find +/- numbers for each game?
  25. It is easy to understand frustration--we all probably feel it. But I hope the team panics less than we tend to do. We know this team has a mix of special talent and hustle. We also know they had a soft schedule the first half, that the conference schedule was going to be a dogfight, and that we would lose some games. We know Boeser is a freshman. We don't know but can probably assume that each of those players wants to win these games more than we do. Most of us probably remember that the Sioux team we place at the alter, the Circus, lost 8 games. This odds are this group will not win the Banner. They might not win the Penrose. But they will do their very best and, depending on who leaves this summer, this might be the most talented, entertaining group of hockey players we see wearing green for a while. Enjoy it. We don't even have to get up off the couch to do that. This really isn't a preach. I'm talking to myself as much as anyone. Actual hockey talk? I'm anxious to see Tomek under some fire, but you probably don't sit Johnson tonight for confidence reasons.
