A lot of the guys on that team work hard. Better passing and better rhythm would make them seem much more fast-paced. We fans tend to attribute slow, uneven pace to lack of effort, when that's not always the case. I'd agree, though, that UND's teams often tend to glide the last couple of strides into a puck battle. As I understand it, that is a tactic that is taught, usually for defensemen, as a means to control the opponent's body. I just don't like it, and it gets them into chasing teams that skate and pass more effectively. More burd bullshyt, but what the he!!; it's an internet fan site.

BU and MIchigan proving that with a bunch of chippahs on O, you still have to play D. Minnestoa proving it can play both.

Miami doesn't have as much skill as UND, but they keep their feet moving, which is a good way to avoid penalties. Our boys get into penalty trouble when they try to do with their sticks what they should do with their feet.

All those dot shots 9 and 17 scored on the last two years aren't happening this year.

This isn't the first UND team that falls into the habit of gliding to and poking at the puck.

I'd say UND's logo is at least holding its own, which is something.

This team has surely disappointed, but if they can win (at least two of) their next three and get Berg and Zmolek back on the ice after the break, some good things are still possible. Not having those two does not excuse the way they've played, but they are important to this team.

Really like the way Strinden has been playing through all this. Strong vertical game. Not being there to see the games in person, it's difficult to judge his D game.

It truly does look like the coaches have lost this team. Doesn't even have to be locker room issues. They just seem to be playing without direction.

Look for an intense weekend. Both teams know they need to sweep in order to realize their goal of winning the Penrose Cup and getting a 1 seed.
