Good observations, Sic, as usual. I think Bowen always gives the team energy too. He's fast and he works very hard. When you don't see the game in person, it's hard to tell if the players are covering their assignments, but I like what I see on the screen.

Winds tend to blow hot or cold around here, don't they? Actually, I thought the worst player in the history of the sport was LJ up until about this time last year.
-
I don't think Brock has zero chemistry with his teammates. Ogie is right. Last year he had Nick and Caggiula, and they all made each other look good. I think Rocco would have flourished on that line too. It's true Brock sometimes dishes in ways his teammates don't anticipate. Like most high draft picks, the game is a little slower for him than it is for the average college player. He makes mistakes, and sometimes his D game is not where it should be (he played with a lot of intensity last night at both ends, I thought), but he can see the ice and make plays.

They may be athletes, but it's the university, not just a hockey camp. Becoming socially aware and expressing themselves on political issues is part of the growth they are supposed to be experiencing. As long as it's done respectfully.
-
Speaking of freedom of expression, what political advocacy did Rhett express last night.that so offended that ref's views?
-
I guess the good thing is that we have all NCHC opponents remaining and a lot of chances to climb, while a loss against an NCHC team is not catastrophic. Still have to win.

Which of us posted before the game hat the boys always win when he (or she) attends and that he planned to be there last night. We need to take care of that poster.

None of these guys is a waste of space. If you don't get that you have no idea whatsoever how the culture of this program works.
-
Fine with me.
-
The gophers are for real, though.
-
Underestimated the guy

After the goal, Cam's been very sharp

Not a BAD call, but not a dumb hit by Boeser. He's working hard.
-
That's the thing. When things aren't going well, we tend to accuse the players of not working hard or of not being prepared. I think this team is doing their best. Their best just is nowhere near what it was last year and not as good as it has been for many year. That's just the way it is. They can still be dangerous, though.
-
the boys are definitely not being outworked.

I'm a hopeless, incurable optimist. Gornall gets one and we begin the march toward Chi-town and #9.

The only way to deal with a spoiled child is to ignore it. I suggest we all do that. Block Dave and do not respond to his attention seeking posts. I've been an offender, but I'm going to stop. On this thread. Iluv has created another thread for playing with little Davie. Maybe that way we can save this thread.

9 on the hockey-stupid scale. 10s are for Dave posts.

I wouldn't exactly classify posting anonymously on a fan site as being "assertive" about anything. Extremely needy, maybe. "Assertive" is for real life matters, such as your job or your community service. Vindication? For whom? For what? What are the gophers to you, or you to the gophers (you probably get the Hamlet reference)? This is a great game, Dave, you should try to just enjoy it for what it is. Whether the gophers win 5 titles in a row or miss the tournament 5 years in a row will not change your personal life one iota. Just have some fun with it.
-
Possibly, but without him we don't win #8, IMO. And I know you aren't saying otherwise, scpa.

We know you need validation from us, Davie, or you wouldn't spend all your time here. There can be only two explanations for that: either you value our hockey knowledge and judgment more than other fan bases, including gophers, or you don't feel welcome over on GPL, Or both. Try to understand that it's OK that they don't care much for you over on GPL. You aren't from there and you didn't go to school there, so you're one of a large number of band wagoners, . Bt you're still a fan, and that's all that matters. You could be some old retired shopkeeper from New Jersey living in Ft. Lauderdale--you'd still have a right to brag about Mich St., Union, or whoever you want. As far as getting validation from us, keep at it. You're failing miserably now, but what other options to you have to feel like somebody cares?

And that is not a surprise, given what walked out the door last year. UND fans just haven't had to deal with it much for years. That's why it's frustrating when fans automatically conclude that when they lose the players aren't trying or the coaching staff isn't making the right decisions. The team culture hasn't changed; we just don't have the horses we had last year.
-
Not surprised, UMinn is good and PSU has played nobody.
-
Yeah. But as old as I am, there are more and more things I should know but don't. Not supposed to be this way.

I like coming into series like this one. There is a lot on the line and no guarantee we will come out the winner. Good stuff. It also makes me so grateful that for many years we have always come into the home stretch with a reason to use the spurs and whip.
