  1. I think Joe's been ready to go with a couple of guys, Wheeler namely.
  2. I understand about the small minority. I just don't think it's fair to punish the innocent majority.
  3. It's a play on "THE Ohio State University" and I could be mistaken but I believe it's borne in the rivalry between the Duluth and MN campus. See Reusse's column today for reasons on why Duluth fan's might want to take shots at the UM fans (i.e. smug).
  4. The average Native American owes nothing to UND. I don't believe boycotting the casino for a lack of support for the nickname is anything but vengeful, IMO.
  5. It will be helpful to shut down Bozak. 8 of his 11 conference goals have come against MN and UND, 6 of them against MN.
  6. 1. The converse could be true as well. Anti-logo council members could be replaced in the next election. 2. That's like saying North Dakota shouldn't vote in the presidential election because it is likely not going to vote with the winning candidate. 3. I do wonder if it would be considered an accurate representation if she was confident the vote would go her way.
  7. Trotter's in a position to help him out.
  8. Mattson is a slick skater and showed some Oshie-like puck skills. Not bad for a guy who was up puking all night. Hope he got the blond hair jag out of his system before he comes and plays for a man's team, though.
  9. Chuck, I appreciate the insight that you bring in your posts, but I have to question your objectivity if you think LaPoint is so advanced over Marto. I've watched a lot of Sioux hockey over the last 1.5 months and Marto is a pretty good player in his own right. As for other defensemen out there, I'm not sure who else would be well behind LaPoint either. Hakstol recently talked about Jones' solid play. It's hard to compare the value of Jones and LaPoint because they are so different in style. I assume he's playing well because he gets a lot of PK time. Are you thinking LaPoint should play over Chorney, Bina, Finley or Genoway? There are 7 guys for 6 slots and somebody has to sit sometimes. I don't see why LaPoint can't take his turn.
  10. I remember when they did that. They got everything they deserved.
  11. Great memories! Looked for myself in the stands but couldn't recognize much. Those goalies sucked.
  12. A quick check of the penalties in MN's games last weekend shows CFB - White Double-Roughing - Bickel Roughing - Carman Roughing - Wehrs CI - Wehrs I'm not sure what a CI is, but I thought I read somewhere this fracas was caused by the gophers running into Mannino. I'm sure MN didn't cause ANY of these issues either. Seems like MN has been involved in a lot of roughing penalties 2 weeks in a row. Common denominator?
  13. This must be staged. There were no green jerseys to be seen.
  14. AMEN, NDH. Especially the last paragraph. I started feeling a little sorry for them back in the late 1990's and what happened? They soon won 2 NCAA's (puke). I won't make that mistake again.
  15. Fortunately, there is still the small possibility of a McNaughton Cup in the future. While the guys can't win it without some help, it's definitely up to them whether they want to be in position to reap the possible reward. I would think this team will be ready this weekend. Certainly there are no excuses.
  16. Was the whole building in Denver bored half-way through the 3rd? The crowd was quiet (but it sounds like that's always the case?), Frank and Doug were bored, and even the players looked like they were walking their dogs the last 3 minutes. I was afraid maybe we woke up the sleeping gopher, but apparently not.
  17. That is beautiful! I'm so ticked at MN. I had to hold my nose and select MN's defense for azsioux's contest because I REALLY wanted to win that jersey, and Denver, even without 2 of their top 3 scorers already has 3 goals. Denver was my other defensive choice. Well, now I want MN to get lit up bad. I walked in to see the end of a scrum apparently caused by MN running the goalie. I thought they didn't do that kind of stuff. Of course, FSN won't show a replay of what happened because it would put MN in a bad light, so I couldn't see it for myself. Could Woog and Mazacco sound more bored?
  18. Good call. Nice, that the big photo in today's Strib is Peltier getting his lid knocked off.
  19. She was, at least, good about fetching me things for a couple of days.
  20. You'll live, but milk it for all it's worth with the missus.
  21. I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying that all it takes is a few posts and that is what the anti's hook into and rally around. Unfortunately, those types of posts and comments can be found.
