  1. I was very impressed with Jordy in the 1 game I saw up in GF. I thought he was the best Shattuck player on the ice that game, and that includes Toews. My opinion carries little weight, but I was impressed FWIW.
  2. I hope to see Forney back, but if he has a good year in the USHL I doubt too many programs will shy away from him because he only can give them 2 years. He will already have had a couple years in a D1 program to understand what its all about, and will finally have his skates underneath them, likely ready to show the offensive talent that made him a highly recruited forward. I would bet there will be a number of teams that show interest if he has the type of USHL year he is capable of.
  3. I don't think U2 would fit in Shawn-O's 70's A-Z fantasy anyway...Great choice!

    Ahhhhh, I love Reusse.
  5. I have a Temptation to go one way and then another on some of these choices. Then I have so many options I end up in a Ball of Confusion.
  6. Back to the A-Z, in the late 70's my brothers and I painted houses in the summer during high school/college in a little town in NE South Dakota. Our little transister radio only pulled in KFYR out of Bismark. Certain songs can pull you back to a certain place, time or activity. This song by Poco takes me back to warm lazy prairie summers and....paint. We didn't paint In The Heart Of The Night but this song still takes me back to the smells, sounds and feels of that time.
  7. One of my top handful of best songs ever. Along with the Doobie's "Black Water" no matter what my circumstances I always feel good hearing it. Ok, I really wanted Angry Eyes by Loggins & Messina (hey, why should Messina be cheated because Loggins' name is first?) but couldn't find a youtube vid. Great song. But, it's such a great day today (at least in Mpls) that I think I'll give a nod to Mungo Jerry since it feels so much like In The Summertime.
  8. Take a look at the artwork on some of the decks of cards that are commonly available. I'll bet a few of those protesters have never looked closely at their Bridge cards....
  9. So many choices, can only use 1. So, to hear one of my favorite Billy Joel songs, why don't you meet me down at an Italian Restaurant.
  10. I was already thinking of that song if I got "I"! Love that one. When I moved to the Cities in 1988, there was a group that played the hard rock bars here called the Speed Kings. They were a fantastic show. They put out a CD and had at least a couple of killer original songs. Never have been able to find one though. Ok, I need to go find a J.....
  11. Welcome back Captain Ryan.
  12. A couple of tough "H" choices but I doubt we'll have too many chances to give a nod to a female headliner so let's have a Heart.
  13. Well, it certainly would appear that Forney will make that 4th forward, at least for the moment.
  14. Actually, a quote from Don Adam comes to mind here.... just kidding
  15. Nice! I'm trying to stay away from the classic rock standards, that makes it a little more challenging and interesting. Looking for some of that delicious light rock, you've already brought up Dan Fogelberg, so he's DQ'd. Had a few good options, but lacking another Fogelberg-esque idea, I'm going to pay homage to a classic rock god-song: Do You Feel Like I Do?
  16. OOO OOO OOO, allow me: My first instinct is to dive back to the Doobies, but they've got their time, so how about a little.... Deep Purple
  17. I have to say I don't understand the HC jersey thing but to each their own. Still, I think this is great because it gives the tea party over on GPL something to gossip about.
  18. Big heart, and a blast to watch. We (fans) were lucky to watch him. Good luck, TJ.
  19. Interesting that Eaves is also on board with the gentleman's agreement. Poor Jerry York, he's not able to get ALL of the best recruits? What is it with the moron and gold colors? They don't already do well enough recruiting now they need to make it easy for themselves? Kids verbal, but they still have their options open because they can change their mind any time they want. And they do. This just keeps York and Lucia from cherry picking a player at the 11th hour that they couldn't offer earlier because they were either reticent to, or they couldn't because they'd already committed too much scholarship $ to other players. Tough life for them. I wonder if Bruce McLeod was still ranting about the WCHA having the "best attendance" and all that jazz to the Bucky contingent...
  20. I hope you guys don't mind me playing along but here's a song that's never failed to bring a smile to my face from Brewer and Shipley: One Toke Over the Line I found one recent live version where they introduce the song by saying it was covered by Lawrence Welk, and then many years later by the Grateful Dead. Lo and behold, they weren't kidding!
  21. Moser53 and Shawn-O, you guys are bringing up some all-time great 70's light rock stuff. Beautiful! But Shawn-O, if you're going Doobie Brothers, I have to go early pre-Michael McDonald. That was still good stuff, but not as good to me as the early stuff. I couldn't find an acceptable youtube vid of South City Midnight Lady, but I did find a decent recent live version of Black Water. For a great accoustic instrumental cover of South City Midnight Lady, try this..
  22. Should be a good, old fashioned donnybrook. My money is on Kvalevog.
  23. They already did it once. How much can you ask for?
  24. I have a copy of Mein Kampf. What does that make me?
  25. You attract more high end players by having a reputation for honestly dealing with them, and telling them when they are and are not ready to move along, than you do if you are consistenly commenting publicly on how they aren't ready and would be better off staying another year. Players know who has their long term development interests in mind.
