I just thought this warranted a little emphasis.
I do think there's a difference between critiquing someone's play and bashing the player, but I think all of us, including me, need to remember this from time to time. Thanks, Speez.
Sioux escape there. How could they leave a guy a chance to go in alone with just a handful of seconds left on the clock? Had that pass been received it could have been a heartbreaker.
I like the effort the last 5 minutes. Keep that up for the 3rd and we should be fine. I think it's very important not to give up another goal, however.
Not a good time for another penalty.
I don't think Hextall has a rep out east. Hextall's interference was invisible, or else they were WAY late in calling something that happened up ice.
Too bad, because it looks like the Sioux have woken from their nap and are starting to put on some pressure. Maybe Hak threatened them with Herbies, Deanos and Ginos.
I would love to see a sweep but it's hard to predict that with this team right now. I'm expecting split again this weekend, hoping for better.
Time to see guys like Trupp, Kozek, Watkins and VandeVelde adding to their stat sheets.
A couple years ago the Sioux were struggling. I talked with a former player (who played under Hak, albeit as an assistant) who told me to be patient. The Sioux ended up in the Frozen Four. I asked this player later what he knew that I didn't. His reply?
"I know how good a coach Hak is."
Funny, Mike Eaves team was involved again. No love here for that whiner.
Hopefully a few messages were sent and received tonite. Hopefully this team can continue to build. Oh, getting healthy would be nice (Get well soon, Joe).
It's frustrating to me to lose this game, to look so punchless for so much of it, but at least they finished strong. Some of that fight and determination that Hakstol talked about last week. That's good, but can't sleep through the rest of the game.
