  1. I actually really like the "War Hammers" Right after the "Iron Horses"
  2. Hi Jayson, thanks. Just a question. I'm not a real technical person so I don't understand all of the ins and outs of these situations, but I assume the bandwidth is available to accomodate all of the people expected to sign on to webcasts this year? It seems at times in the past the quality of the stream was affected by the number of people logging on, and with HD I would assume the resource requirements are that much greater. The ability to connect the webcast to the TV is actually a pretty decent option, especially for people like me that would have to upgrade our DTV subscriptions for several months just to get the FCS broadcasts (I'd have to pay for the webcast subscription or I'd pay to upgrade to the DTV sports pac). I also realize the system I'm using on my end is a limiter as well. The stream will only be as good as my connection/equipment. Of course, with the TV signal that's not as big of a concern. So, if the webcast will be able to provide a dependable stream regardless of the HD and the number of people signed on, this is probably an option many of us have under rated to this point. Thanks
  3. Jim's looking to capitalize on the next model of skull cap
  4. AND the game at SCSU will be attended by many of us living in this area. Although I agree that's a fairly week argument because lots of folks can't or won't be able to attend that game. That's just me whining. I suppose, in the end, I'll probably have to sign up for the webcast, and finally learn how to plug that HDMI cord thingy into that tv thingy.
  5. I don't recall it happening more than just the last few years, but then again I only attend 1 home series a year. I don't recall it going on that long, however. Personally, I actually think it's a cool think to do, but I'm not a big fan since it's an obvious rip-off. Just like I don't like goofer fans yelling home of the "gophers" at the end of the banner. And I don't like Sioux fans doing the "1 minute left in the period" "thank you!" thing. Another cool thing, but it was someone else's idea. Everyone should do their own things.
  6. I was really surprised to see posts yesterday saying the lower bowl was filled. I guess we're now seeing that's not the case, and more to expectations. I'd love to see a very well attended tourney, but I suspect it won't be like the WCHA Final Fives.
  7. If I recall the Target Center seats start at rows 1-4 and then A-Z. But some of those are taken up with the hockey rink. Not sure if it's just 1-4, or perhaps more.
  8. If I recall, somewhere in the fine print it mentioned you could request a general area to sit, and it might be accomodated. I don't recall, exactly, but in that application process I did give them a general idea of how high up in the section we'd like to be. We got Row P, which appears to be about 5 rows higher than were we were at the X. And within or really close to the parameters we gave them.
  9. For the person asking where the UND section is, I cannot say for certain. But we did purchase our ticket packages last spring when they were first offered. At the time I believe we selected the UND fan section (in fact, I don't recall we had a choice...). Anyway, just this week we were informed our seats are in section 130. So I THINK that is the UND fan section, but I can't say that for sure. FWIW
  10. I'm not talking about the warm-up music, I'm talking about Sweet Caroline, and then crowd sings along and does the "bah bah bah" thingy. Yuck
  11. If we're worried about being original, then let's stop with the N-O-R-T-H etc business at the end of the school song, and let's also quit with the crappy Neil Diamond song that has no business in hockey rinks. I like originality too, but if we have to get rid of something pretty good like Chelsea Daggar, let's get rid of the crappier stuff at the same time (or better yet, first!)
  12. I'm not saying Gwoz is my top choice, and I think there are guys with program ties who would be good candidates as well. But you can't argue with Gwoz's success and his teams always played hard, played for each other, and he seemed to find good goalies. I don't think you could discount him as a serious candidate.
  13. Count me as one who thinks UND should seriously consider Gwoz should a replacement for Hakstol ever need replacing. That said, the above was damn funny.
  14. I actually don't know anything about Stecher but I will say that evaluating good D-men is based on more than offensive numbers
  15. I talked to a former Sioux player once who played in the ECHL for a few years. He said "all you need to know about that league is to look at the stats I put up at UND and then the stats I put up in the ECHL". Basically his offensive numbers were way up in the ECHL. He said it was much harder to score at the D1 level. Nothing against Mario. He's obviously having a great year. But it's not a total surprise either.
  16. Same. Where oh where is Hobey Dan?
  17. THERE you go. Love it.
  18. I'm sorry, the boys just keep giving me more material. I'm not good at editing.
  19. I think many years ago I was #1 or close to it. Then I decided to save everyone from myself.
  20. The real lesson here is how timeless and unforgettable are the things I say.
  21. I don't know. I stopped it at 29 second as the bodies collide and you can see Mav's helmet/head kind of bending around Bucky's shoulder. It's clear he didn't try to hit the Mav in the head, but the Mav was bent over a little in trying to make the play and Bucky was standing straight up and he tagged him. I don't know the actual contact to the head rule, but if it basically says to call it if the body of the perp hits the head of the victim, then this probably qualified. Again, I'm not sure how it could be avoided without laying off the hit. I think it's just one of those things. But it's probably a good call for contact to the head.
  22. I don't understand the negative takes on Kristo. He's obviously committed to the Fighting Sioux, committed to his teammates, busts his ass on the ice, generally plays big in big games, etc. What's not to love?
