  1. Watched both games on TV. MN looked awfully good. Yeah, maybe Lucia tinkered with a few players but come on, how could they lose to AA? R Potulny is absolutely money with the puck. He also seemed to know exactly what he was going to do with the puck. Shoot for an upper corner, and he normally hit it. I never want to see him with the puck again in the offensive zone. I'm struggling like everyone to understand what's up. Though we had a better showing on Friday neither night was I terribly impressed with the offensive flow and transition game our team had. Penalties can take their toll as in Friday's game, but on Sat it looked like the first game of the year. I was thinking about this as I sat in the car for 5 hours today...Are the Sioux installing some new offensive systems that call for the defenseman to make a long first pass? Would that be why Woog was critical of Sioux forwards for not coming back to help out all weekend? I have no idea so am throwing this out there...Maybe we're asking our defenseman to do something new with the puck, and they are struggling to get it done effectively. It's the only rational answer for our horrible transition game. As some else noted, passes 2 feet behind all the time. No flow, no tape to tape full speed flow. I can't believe our forwards are consistently as "lazy" as Woog was criticizing them, so there must be another reason. This was all I could come up with. There's no reason why the loss of Lundblohm, Hale, Parise and Bochenski should cause our transition game and ability to carry the puck through the neutral zone to vanish. We have enough guys who should be able to handle this. So what's up? Radke looks like he's got a ways to go but is catching up and you could see some potential. Also nice to see he's not afraid to be physical. Spirko is fantastic handling the puck in small areas. Really fun to watch. Zajac also looks strong, but Spirko might be the more dynamic player. Kaip looks real solid as well. Great freshman class. Looking forward to seeing Lammy play more too. What did Canady do that he only got a shift or 2 in the first period and then sat until the game was out of hand in the 3rd? Or did I just miss him on TV? I don't buy that our defenseman have to be that afraid of playing defense. Hit the guy with the puck, don't slash him, don't hook him, but get in front of him. Don't throw the stick out at the guy without the puck who's skating by you... Looking for answers....
  2. Slappy, fans have every right to expect whatever they want from their own team. I have no idea why you would come here and make an issue of that.
  3. Kozek is now 8th in the BCHL and has 1.5 ppg and Duncan is 13th at 1.7 ppg. The leading scorer is at 2.0ppg and the other 3 guys in the top 4 are at 1.6-1.7ppg. Basically Duncan's scoring puts him in the top 5 in ppg, and Kozek is right in the mix with many at the 1.5-1.6 range.
  4. I forgot about that but, like you, it doesn't change my final guess.
  5. Having mentioned in that article he'd like to play with friends I doubt UND has much shot.
  6. Thanks, Pat. One change from Blais to Hakstol is I don't think we're going to see the "bulletin board" material. I guess that's both good and bad!
  7. I would describe my experience in the same way.
  8. Duncan is the feature player on the BCHL website: Duncan
  9. Thanks, cfm, for posting this as I was going to. I will add that the repeated complaints that we really ARE the gophers biggest rival only smacks of begging, which is unbecoming a Sioux fan.
  10. Obscure movie reference: Woog, where's your LundbLohm NOW??
  11. Neat idea. Too bad we spanked Maine in "preseason".
  12. Sweet! I apologize if I missed the memo on that before. Thanks again.
  13. ok, I give.... What's the "quote" button at the bottom of each posting for? Used to use that to quote a post that you were replying to. Now the "reply" button does that. Help.
  14. I agree. I think it's a great cheer. I just love to hate it!
  15. Maybe he had to play so much because Greene was always in the box.
  16. I predict James Massen will have significant contribution again in one of the games.
  17. I think they said there was no NEED for selling season tickets, not "no demand". That's what I remember from the quote anyway.
  18. I really like this. I think the crowd should spell this out copying the "minnesota" cheer at the end of a win.
  19. I've only seen part of 2 state tourney games that Oshie played (on TV). From what I've been reading he sounds a lot like Bochenski. Ugly but effective skater, good scorer. Am I on or off the mark there?
  20. Those are great photos, and the Schneider photo is a top notch. I'd be proud of that too. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Lammy made 31 saves? wow. Great job Lammy! Great job Massen with the GWG. It's fantastic to get a GWG from our 4th line. Maybe one thing our team can take from this win is how the forwards turned it up in the 3rd. It's inexcusable that it takes 5 periods for this to happen, but maybe they learned the difference between playing hard, and really playing up to their abilities.
  22. Great to hear Massen get a goal. I've been pulling for him to score all period as the Mankato announcers rave about the "vice" the sioux forwards are putting on the Mavs. Maybe Greene should sit for Radke from now on. He's got to stay out of the box. This is too much.
