    Zajac

Zajac in the Herald Nice article about one of our best players. From what I've been able to watch of this kid on TV, he does seem to be a complete player. Good in all aspects of the game. We're fortunate to have him.
  2. I'm so happy for Colby that he's only got a bruise. It sounded like it could have been more serious. Hope he's ready to play soon. Great to hear Murray might play this weekend. Sounds like they will be responsible about deciding whether he will play. Loved this quote
  3. I think it's best if Badger's use their water bottles with discretion when Cary Eades is in the building. Apparently MacMurchy didn't get "the memo".

    Kessel

Kessell played against the world's best competition (for his age) on the "small rink" in the Ralph and funny, he did just fine. Anyone who thinks the small rink is suddenly going to make him lose his game is deluding themselves, IMO. How good he will be in college does remain to be seen, but I think there's no doubt he's going to be a top player for whoever gets him. I'm hoping our D can play him tough and give him little space to work. We'll see.

AHHHHHHHHHHH! The bed's spinning....make it stop!

    Kessel

Actually, I think your post stating the "no championships for Parise" thing on GPL was earlier than this one.
  7. It only takes one person to throw one penny for something like this to be written. It likely happened in warm-ups, if it did happen. Hopefully there won't be much copy-catting.
  8. Whatever happens now I hope it doesn't jeapardize Brady's start next season.

    Kessel

    I hope so!
  10. Sometime I'm going to have to start taking time off and attending the state hockey tournament like I do the Final Five. Fun to watch on TV at least... I'm pumped to see teams from the Iron Range make it down. Good luck to Virginia!
  11. Congratulations Jordan! Way to go last weekend.
  12. oops!
  13. At the end of a scrum Friday, near the end of the game Greene gave someone a punch that knocked them back about 3 feet. It really did look powerful.
  14. But you at least seem to have access.....
  15. Wow. That Earl has really nice legs.
  16. Kozek has taken over #2 overall in the BCHL scoring race from Duncan with 2 assists yesterday. Watkins has moved up to #8 overall in the scoring race with a goal and 2 assists yesterday. Duncan and Kozek are 1 and 2 overall in goals scored and Watkins is about 8th. Great finish by Watkins who steadily moved up through the year and is finishing the regular season strong, as are both Duncan and Kozek. Good signs.
  17. I'm happy to hear the Sioux were buzzing in OT. Frankly, my perception is that they regularly have it handed to them in OT, and this goes back over some years. Sagard?

    St. Cloud

No extras this year either. Sorry 01. I'm willing to bet that place isn't sold out the way things are going for them.
  19. This year the injury bug seems to have bit the Sioux. What a bummer for Genoway. Will hurt to be missing him from here on out. Way to go Parise! Good job by the rest of the team in only giving up the 1 goal. I've been believing in this team all year until last Saturday. I finally deflate my expectations and they take 3 of 4 from Bucky. Outstanding job. Will be a fun weekend in St. Cloud. Hopefully we can find some bodies to play at forward. Speaking of Radke, has anyone asked Hakstol why he's not playing (pre/post game interviews, or coaches show)? I'm guessing something besides on ice performance is going on and maybe that's why we haven't heard anything. But it did seem as if he was coming on there for a while. Very curious.
  20. Maybe they would have liked a hooking call or 2 against Bucky late in the 3rd yesterday....
  21. We don't know how much the PCS affected Kaip before he actually told someone about the symptoms either. That might have been affecting his play earlier than anyone really realized.
  22. Greyeagle, thanks a bunch. Now to learn how to skate.... My money is on Spirko in those games in tight spaces.
  23. You know, another positive is that after Bucky's 2nd goal the Sioux came back with an answer in about a minute and a half. Yes, Bucky answered the Sioux's first goal in a couple of minutes, but nice to see us taking it right back at them later. Steps in the right direction!
  24. On the radio before last night's MN/SCSU game they interviewed coach Dahl. They were asking him what might have been the key to the recent good play by SCSU. He said that they weren't doing a lot of the same old drills, but playing a lot of "small area games" and keeping score. The guys were apparently responding well to this, really enjoying it, and they've been having good success since that time. Dahl went on to say that Gwoz said last year Denver did these "small area games" end of January and all of Feb (a time Denver was very very hot) and he credited those games for their hot streak. Dahl said he decided he'd do the same in the future. So, my question is, what are "small area games". From the interview, it sounded like these are things more commonly used with kids, not college players.
  25. MN now up 4-1 on St. Cloud. All I know is I hope Montgomery gets a game in the nets next weekend. Whoa. Here's why I like Woog on the broadcast. Last night he was ripping the gophers for not being able to pass the puck effectively. Tonite he was ripping Irmen for crying to the refs and called out a penalty that should have been called on the gophers that wasn't. Sure, he's a homer, but he's not afraid to tell it like it is.
