  1. Inspirational, PCM. Hope to heck it happens but I'm not as confident. That's a tall mountain to climb, and I've heard a hockey player talk about how little is left in the tank for a 3rd game in 3 days. Nothing is impossible however, and I'll be giving the team all the energy I can from the cheap seats.
  2. They may very well. I personally prefer the longer break!
  3. That's pushing it. Most games do only go about 2.5 hours, so in general there would be a little time. But if that game has a lot of goals and/or penalties and goes 3 hours suddenly you only have 1 hour between games. Any overtime games just compound the problem. Have to clear the fans, resurface the ice, etc in hurry just so teams can get out for warm-ups. For the next games. Not much time for fans to get out for happy hour, or make sure fans who aren't supposed to stay for the night game leave. However, it would be good for concessions because of a lack of time to find anything to eat outside the arena. Personally, I could use a fair break between games.
  4. I've never liked the black on the "shimmer cloth" or whatever it's called that our jerseys are made from. To me it reflects too much light and looks grey. (The green, however, looks really cool IMO) At least in the photos that John Dahl posted, they came out looking really really black. If so, I'd be more in favor of wearing them as they looked good in the photos. Maybe they used a different material.

    Blue Ice?

Blue Ice on Hockey Rinks Article Wonder if this will make much difference. Would be interesting to see it.
  6. Only Saturday in the Cloud. Friday was green. Thurs is St. Patty's Day. I hope they wear the green.
  7. I think PCM speaks for most of us.
  8. What, do you pick pockets at intermission? No wonder you have the bail bond key chains!
  9. I think Blais said something about the affect seniors can have on a team/season a few years go (2001-02?) when he bemoaned the fact that he had some seniors who knew they weren't going to win a championship that year, and weren't going to play pro hockey, and how they have a tendancy to lack intensity in that situation. While one could go back 2 weeks and say that UMD and UND were in similar situations (both struggling offensively, both with post season tourney aspirations on the bubble at best) the team who had a better post season opportunity creamed the other team when rubber hit the road (net). Sandelin may be a great coach but it looks like many of his leaders quit on him. We've often been critical of our seniors this year, but who are we going to be critical of over the last month or so? Gotta give the seniors credit. And gotta give the coaches credit.
  10. You know, I really don't care that much about a team that plays on the edge a bit. I like to rip on them for it though! But most of that is made of exaggeration because every team has guys that play a little chippy. It's true that some teams may have more than other, but every team has them. However, I'll hold Lucia's team to a higher standard because of the little rip he gave the Sioux after the Vannelli/McMahon set-to. Something like "Isn't it funny that every time there's a fight in the league UND is involved".

    Final Five

Personally I would enjoy seeing Denver and CC play. They have a heated rivalry and while us fans may not be invested like their fans would be, it should be a fun game to watch.
  12. A lot like Briggs being out for the season too? Murray and Genoway? Yep.
  13. Big Chief, I'd love that but I think most of the lower bowl seats are already held for the people who buy those seats year after year. For instance, my group has the same seats in 104 every year. It would be fun to be around a bunch of other Sioux fans, though, especially year after year.
  14. Right on, Canuck. I have been happy to put to rest the discussion of Hakstol's job, at least for the time being. The coaches and the players have said over the last several weeks they have been playing better, and the results have begun to show on the scoreboard. The big weekend probably helps gloss over the insecurity about ties at SCSU and losses at AA (the night after a big win), however. So for that reason maybe my own optimism is somewhat misplaced. But no matter how bad Duluth may have played this weekend, our team deserves an awful lot of credit for playing SO well. The players deserve the credit and the coaches do to. But I think us fans on the message boards deserve the lion's share for pointing out the weaknesses and prescribing the proper fixes!
  15. I'll only take issue with your comment about Prpich not scoring the way he should. I don't know if you have seen the other posts where I've detailed goals scored by the 9 guys who have played forward on our last 2 lines, but Prpich currently has scored 7 of the 16 goals scored by that group, and recently had 7 of 12. He's a 3rd line forward, playing with other players who have been woefully short of offense this past year. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say that Prpich is playing to his full capability (I think he is) but his role as a checker, and the lack of offensively gifted linemates would seem to be a factor of his overall production that should be taken into account.
  16. Wasn't absolutely sure it was you. Yes, same jersey. Sect 104, Row 11, seats 12-14.
  17. I knew he had a good weekend but didn't know HOW good. Way to go, Rory! Looks like another senior is stepping up.
  18. I remember that game. That just totally stunk all the way around. We basically had the whole upper deck to ourselves.
  19. I didn't necessarily cave. A few well-timed "woo-hoo's" and the satisfaction of seeing the nasty look directed my way on occasion was plenty enjoyable enough for the evening.
  20. That was a fun game to get to. Crowd was small but bigger than I expected.
  21. A few years ago I had a ticket all by my lonesome smack dab in the middle of the one of a section. I was surrounded by middle to senior aged bulldog fans. Most of them were great, and knowledgeable. But the little old lady right in front of me was very perturbed to have this guy wearing a Sioux jersey in HER section. And before the game started she turned around and told me I WOULD NOT be cheering. And she was serious. It was a fun night. I behaved myself. My team won, and I didn't get taken out to the woodshed by granny.

That's confidence, Sagard. That a fatigued gopher squad will still hang on to beat the Sioux...
