  1. I watched a lot of last sunday's Duluth/SCSU game and Raymond was a stud. I know it's only one game, but I came away very impressed. What about Lasch instead of Nodl? Despite his size Lasch seems like more of a scrapper than Nodl. A friend who is an SCSU fan says if you play Nodl physically he disappears. Not so with Lasch.
  2. After watching Tech tonite I think Lammy is at least better than Teslak. Not his best outing.
  3. Mpls Weather Radar from Weather.Com Based on this it looks like you should be free and clear to drive down, as long as the roads are ok up there.
  4. Sodak Sioux Fan drove in from NE South Dakota this morning and it was smooth sailing.
  5. I would really like to know if basically playing 4 games in 3 days, and 2 of those games on Sunday, might have a physical affect on SCSU. They have had several days in between so maybe it's no big deal. On the other hand, their bodies are used to 2 games every weekend, and now they really had to dig down for more, a little out of their normal rhythym. And playing on Friday afternoon, will that have any affect on them at all? Also, will the mental edge be there after the highly emotional, stressful weekend? I'm curious. Maybe it will be obvious, either way, on Friday.
  6. It's easy to say you wish you had stayed one more year when you've got the big paycheck safely in the bank. Although I hate to see some of these guys leave when they do, how can you blame them? That payday is not guarenteed to anyone.
  7. I always thought you were the hot friend.
  8. They are much more enlightened at that institution. I don't know why you are so hard on them. They have taped a Husky head over the old Blackhawk logo on a picture of there only famous hockey alum which hangs in the NHC, which proves how much more caring and advanced they are.
  9. I'm very happy to see people are factoring in that Duncan has been a consistent performer all the way through the season, and hasn't just emerged with the run the team has made, or because the other 2 DOT's got things rolling. If anything, he got the other DOT's and the team to where there was a point to getting on a roll.
  10. McGovern's is only a couple blocks west on 7th. Right across from Cossetta's. It will be packed, but pregame isn't as bad as between games. Then it gets to be too much for me.
  11. You can find places to park around the arena if you're willing to pay a few buck, IF you are early enough. Hard to say what early enough has to be, though. We park in the neighborhood but you have to hoof it many blocks, but it saves on parking $. There are bars in the vacinity but between games they get super loaded. If you like that, great. If not, you can do one of two things. You can drive somewhere between games to find a beer and a bite, or you walk a little farther to find an out of the way place that isn't so crowded. My crew doesn't care to be packed in to a place close by. In the past we've driven to somewhere else between games, but you risk losing your parking spot, and it can be tough to get somewhere and back on time for the night game, and not feel like you're rushing around. Last year it worked pretty good for us to walk over to Great Waters Brewery for the alumni party. It's not quite the exuberant atmosphere but it's not bad, and there's beer and food. You pay a cover to enter too, so that's the one downer. But for us that works out very well. If you look up the Xcel Center on the internet you should be able to find parking locations on their website. You can then do a search for St. Paul restaurants/bars on the net to get an idea of some likely spots, and where they are. That's what we've done in the past and just chosen this or that place and tried it out.
  12. That's kind of what I was worried about.
  13. Sodak Sioux Fan and I will be there, same seats as always. Sect 104 Row 11. I wear a green geometric logo jersey with 87 on the back. Say hi.
  14. I've read some of this guy's stuff before. Unless he's widely considered a crackpot, it seems there's still a battle to be fought up in Grand Forks....
  15. On the telecast I watched they said Gordon returned.
  16. Nice work. Who does that song?
  17. My prediction: Michael will get healthy and we will be happy to have him.
  18. The overlooked part of Duncan's year is that he didn't just get hot when the Sioux started winning, he was probably the only reason the Sioux are able to make the tournament due to the goal scoring he did in the first half.
  19. In the late game last night it seemed that Albert Lea defenseman Adam Royce was the best player on the ice. I thought he looked better than Aaron Marvin from Warroad.
  20. Those are awesome jerseys. I wish I had the do-re-mi for one. Nice work!
