  1. I agree. My feeling is the Sioux will need at least 4 goals tonite, and that might only get them to overtime. If they get 5 in regulation, they will win. They will need some players to produce besides the DOT line.
  2. York said he's matching his top D pair, big guys, on the DOT line.
  3. No can do. Would like to but I've got too many commitments here at work. Still not sure about tonite either.
  4. PCM, I'm a bit surprised you missed this other call: Caller: Hi, this is Stagard (Home from the Bar). I was just wondering if you are recruiting Sidney Crosby? Have you heard of him? PCM, that was as funny as it gets. I was crying. Anyone reading it would enjoy it, but the Hakstol quotes only make it better for those who have regularly listened to him. And then there was the finishing touch:
  5. I haven't decided if I'm going to watch the game alone in my basement or not. You may see me, I don't know yet.
  6. If Clint Eastwood and Ryan Duncan were in a shooting contest, Clint would quit.
  7. That was a pretty tactful way to put it.
  8. Wow, how did Owens get the curls out of his hair?
  9. I'm afraid it would make me soft core, if you know what I mean. Turtle core even.
  10. Definitely disagree with you on the past black and green jerseys. I don't think the shimmer cloth or whatever it's called looks very good in black, more grey. I definitely like the green better with that material. But the new material looks very good in black, IMO, and I do like the slimmer fit. I would like to see these with a larger crest, but I kind of like the smaller crest. I've even gotten used to the design of the numbers. I usually like the more block style numbers similar to what is currently being used, but this style number has grown on me.
  11. I voted that I thought they looked good and have some comments on the matter. 1. I'm generally more of a fan of classic styling for hockey jerseys. However, these have grown on me. If it were up to me I'd probably tweak the styling a little bit but overall these are pretty sharp from a newness point of view. 2. This style of sweater (aesthetically) is fine ONLY if it doesn't become a standard style for other teams. I know Nike provided these jerseys to several other teams, and I think the styling is similar, but my assumption is this was because Nike was promoting this new type of jersey (material, etc). If Nike has a standard "look" that any team would need to use then I say burn them. 3. I don't know anything about the performance of these jerseys, but if the players like them that's good enough for me.
  12. I think you are overgeneralizing here. I think we can all agree to blame the gophers, can't we?
  13. Keep your head down, your spirits up, and most importantly.... THANK YOU.
  14. I'm glad you found that quote for your sig. I'd forgotten it but it's a great one.
  15. The AD seems to have done a good job with the men's BB coach.
  16. I didn't get to watch last year's game but the impression I have is that the Sioux were blitzed a time or 2 by BC. Hopefully remembering the lessons of last year's game, and from playing/beating Michigan last weekend will prepare the Sioux to be on top of their game next Thursday.
  17. I talked to a former player who played when Hak was assistant under Blais. After the Tech debacle in December I emailed him and asked him if this was pretty much what we can expect for this season, and his response was simply "Patience". At the end of the regular season I asked him what he knew that I didn't know at that time, and his reply was "Because I know how good a coach Hak is.". I think pretty much stands on its own.
  18. That is the correct line. Great checking line. No one mentions the Line of Fire much (Panzer, Lundbohm, Bayda) but they had that name for a reason. That 2001 team really was carried by that line. I did vote for Hrkac Circus because that's obvious, but in the discussion of the next best lines I think the LOF should be in the mix. I never saw the Taylor/Smail/Sykes line play but from everything I hear and read they certainly deserve recognition.
  19. No one beats the Hrkac Circus.
  20. I will admit to having the same question but remember Hakstol's comments when he moved Radke back that he liked the physical dimension and the spark that Radke gave the team when he's in the lineup. While I get enamored with more skilled players let's also not forget that Hakstol has done a very good job of putting guys on the ice who fill an important role, and they may not always be the most offensively talented.
