  1. hodgefan10, you might be interested in these Mike started a thread on this board to thank his fans. Video of Mike's most famous "altercation" with an opponent.
  2. I think this is going to be a tough series. Tech is feeling their oats and some of our guys are needing to find out what 100% means (Hak said it, not me). Tech has excellent goaltending, solid D, and an ok offense. The Sioux will need relentless offense this weekend to win. I'll accept a split, but hope for better.
  3. I'm guessing that the continuing media attention convinced the NCAA that it needed to continue to save us from ourselves. I doubt the PC police got to the NCAA because no one seems to have known there was almost an agreement between the parties in the first place. Therefore, no chance for increased lobbying by the PC's. No, I think the NCAA read the papers and decided that they couldn't abide giving up.
  4. Congratulations to the women's hockey team. I'm happy for them that they can start this new era off with some success. That's got to be refreshing for them.
  5. That's great! Since we couldn't agree on what to call him around here maybe NG4U.
  6. Reading Phil's comments it looks like some of the freshmen might have read too much into that first game with State. Probably a very good thing that this weekend was a dogfight from the drop of the puck. Great to see that the goals came from guys like Kozek, Miller and Kaip. Fantastic contribution from other than the big guns.
  7. In Mankato last year Martens got quite a bit of time on the PP and he did some very nice passing. I've heard he has some pretty good skills that show in practice. Maybe he's a guy who can thrive when there's open ice.
  8. Welcome! Too bad this game sucked so bad to watch.
  9. To be clear, BC didn't have much flow either. I wasn't blaming the ice for only affecting the Sioux. Just that I think it was the ice, not BC, that cause problems for the Sioux.
  10. In the replay Malone looked like he hurt the shoulder pretty good. I'm glad to read that Hakstol was pretty happy with the play tonite, because that means it was the ice that made the team look SO bad. No transition game, no flow through neutral ice, nothing. I also thought BC outhit the Sioux. Kaip's penalty looked like a bad move to me. After Petrecki hit Watkins high, Kaip looked right at the ref, then bopped Petrecki in the back of the head which started the wrestling match. In this game it hurt not to get that PP. Phil looked great tonite, I thought. He was tested more than last week. I think we'll miss Malone's physical presence. Hopefully he's not too badly hurt. But when he got up off the ice he dropped his stick and held his shoulder with his left hand while his right arm just hung.
  11. I told him I was buying his beers, so he left me alone. Then I slipped out real fast once the game was called.
  12. I had as much fun as you can watching a horrible game like this one. Ran into hrkac and BigChief, so I had that going for me, which was nice.
  13. Thanks for inviting me.... I'm off to Sensers!
  14. Before we get too excited about what Kate Crandall has to say, she also said this, showing that she's not that familiar with what goes on here. Phil was hurt in the first half last year, and I don't recall that he was a late performer any other year.
  15. Well, there's a whole lot of alumni who had blacked out at least one night over the past 20 or so years who are now breathing a sigh of relief!
  16. That was a very heads-up play. From watching the video replay, and with my limited hockey knowledge, it looks like it would have been very difficult to get a pass to Duncan. The D played it pretty well. Therefore, not only was it a great shot, but I think he made the best choice considering all the variables.
  17. Siouxnami, that was an excellent question! What a great guy Duncan seems to be. We're lucky to have players of this quality (on and off the ice) to root for in this program. Very fortunate.
  18. You are correct. I'd have liked to have found out, though.
  19. yeah, I'd hate to miss seeing him tackle the defender at the top of the crease negating another one of Miller's goals.
