  1. I said this same thing a few weeks ago (actually I was even alittle kinder) and got jumped on.
  2. I would normally agree with that, but I've seen him skate. I would have expected him to fall in behind genoway and zajac on the goal chart. Along with porter, oshie, toews and duncan.
  3. I think he has already played six games, I would call that a "shot"
  4. Lundbohm was a great player and a great guy so was his brother.
  5. 20 goals? No one thought that and if they did they are a complete moron. Shawn-O you need to check my low respect list.
  6. 1. Minnesota- This team is loaded, goaltending isn't as big of a question mark as it has been in the past. 2. St. Cloud- Very top heavy, their first line is the real deal. I also like Borer on D. I think Goepfert maybe the best goalie in the country. He isn't as consistent as an Elliot or Schneider but can steal any game. I think this team has it in place to make a run at the NCAA's this year. 3.Denver- This team is dangerous with Fisher in net and vulnerable without him. They have fire-power up front. Alot of their better players are really young so that could be a concern. 4.Wisconsin- This team has been pretty banged up this year and is still in the hunt. Elliot will keep them in every game and when they are healthy they are dangerous. 5.CC- They lost alot upfront off of last years team, and have looked vulnerable at times this year. They have some scoring punch. 6. UND- It was tough to put them so low but I had too, UND has been off this year. They have plenty to work with and they can play with anyone when they are on. 7.Michigan Tech- Pounded UAA 9-0 this year, They don't tend to give up alot of goals. They don't have a ton of fire power and don't really have alot of upset potential. 8.Alaska-anchorage- some nice wins this year, tough at home. this team has upset potential but a long run in the play-offs is unlikely. 9.Minnesota Duluth- Goaltending hasn't really been there for them this year, Raymond and Niskinan provide most of this teams offense. 10. Minnesota State- They have looked good at times but haven't put many games away, I like Morin up-front, he is their big horse and he is one of the top 5 forwards in the conference. Goaltending has been sketchy and they give up way too many goals.
  7. I don't think phil played poorly on saturday at all. letting in 3 goals against Wisc is rarely going to get it done but he just doesn't have a ton of help and wisc. has enough fire power to capitilize when givin good oppurtunities. Skille, Carlson, joudrey, geoffrion , and I think gorowsky has the skill to become a big time player. With that said I agree Phil has to step up and steal a game here or there. I think he can do because he is that talented. I say let him heal up over the break (I just don't think he is 100%), after a few games if he hasn't improved I'd be all for shutting him down. I'd say pull the plug on him now but as bad as phil has played it was still better than what I saw out of Greico.
  8. Not sure what having #22 fight would do. Fights in college are seldom worth watching, few players have alot of experiance fighting. Not to say they can't be good, I have seen a few good ones. But for people to rip the helmets off and really go at it is very rare. The thing about Lee has always been him turning the puck over, he has good up-side as he is decent skater with good size. He is just not consistent. When ever I rank the defenseman I usaully have him close to the bottom, but ahead of finley. I think it will be interesting to see how he plays in the World Junior Tourney.
  9. I didn't mean sell out I meant be more full than it is.
  10. He says the gophers had a better recruiting class, then you come back and say the your right the Sioux have no chance of winning. I know your being sarcastic. Why do you try to spin peoples words. He never said the sioux had no chance, you had no response to what he posted so you decided to misquote him and say "your right they should just give the championship to the gophers". He makes a point of how the sioux had a weak recruiting class and you turn it around and make it look like he said they have no chance of winning. Thats why your a moron.
  11. I agree the freshman aren't playing poorly. Genoway is looking good, I like Vande velde. Zajac is also playing well and the others don't see alot of ice so you can't expect much out of them.
  12. This is the stupidest post ive seen in my life, he never said that. I always like it when morons come back with a post that completely distorts what the previous poster says. That just shows me one thing, that you agree with what he says so you don't dare say anything against what he said so you twist it so it looks worse.
  13. None of them play much. Vande has looked good when he has, and can play with anyone. Fabian is a role player, and forney plays at most 3 shifts a game. I don't think kaip is that good to begin with but he also doesn't see a ton of ice time.
  14. I agree with what your saying but it is obvious there isn't much support for the girls team. My point was yea the Englestead is the nicest rink the recruits could hope for, but if there isn't anyone in it to watch the games the rink is much less apealling. Will it fill up if the team was better, probably. I was also trying to get at the fact that when you lose a game 9-rip you can't blame it on the coach. The other thing about this is you can't relate it too the guys team. Alot of big time recruits come here because they like the tradition and have no intention of graduating. The girls don't have this option the education the school offers is very important. I just have a tough time seeing a girl turning down a full ride to Harvard to come to UND. That isn't a knock on UND it is just reality, the girls are looking for an education first.
  15. I'm alittle torn on this issue, The team has minimul talent- They get blown out. You can talk about whose fault that is but bottom line is somthing isn't appealling to the potential recruits. I don't think you can blame the coach for a team getting pounded 9-0, because atmost a coach can sway a game two goals either way. With that said these are her players. We will have to see if the next coach has better success recruiting then this coach did. If it turns out the new coach doesn't then the program needs to make a change to make it a more appealling enviroment for recruits. You should be able to get a few with the rink alone, but on that same note the rink is empty during games. But if the team was winning maybe more fans would come. I'm very torn. I think the move needed to be made to see if that can jump start the program but to say it was all the coachs fault for the team getting killed is probably off.
  16. Tech has actually played fairly well this year. With that said, a sweep in this series is vital.
  17. I think for UND to compete with the Minnesota's the Maine's the BC's, Radke has got to be in there. He skates way to well for him to be riding the pine or sitting in the stands. I think Porter has had some great games and he needs to be there for the team to make a run. I like Genoway at the point, skilled and poised. I think the goaltending will come around, I just don't know if phil is healthy. I think after the break give him a few games and if he hasn't responded shut him down. With that said, I think he needs to be the guy if UND is going to make a run. Same with Oshie, I just don't think he is 100% and since he plays such a physical game if he isn't healthy he just can't be as effective. Powerplay: Got to have Radke and Genoway on the points, it all starts with the Quarterbacks and these are the two most offensively talented D on the team. I'd like to see the D pairs run like this: Chorney/Radke- Chorney is steady, Radke is alittle more unpredictable but has great offensive up-side and maybe the most physical D on the team. Bina/Jones-Bina has been steady , Jones hasn't. Genoway/Lee- I think these two would work well if Lee stays back and let's genoway do his thing.
  18. Well in my opinion, the power-play in inconsistent. The PK is inconsistent. Besides Bina, Radke, Chorney all of the other defensemen are playing below where they should be. Lee is coughing it up almost as much as Finley, Jones takes untimely penalties, Radke takes a few too many penalties (although I like how he actually plays physical and I like his skill level), Goaltending has been sketchy at best. Both Phil and Greico have been suspect. Coachs are being out coached. Watkins, kozek, kaip have been off this year along with others. The team is having trouble putting together solid line combos. Oshie has been a little banged up this year. Toews is snake bit, obviously the best forward on the team but hasn't been burying it this year. Porter has played well at times but has lacked consistency. The team is losing battles they shouldn't lose. Defense aren't allowing the goalies to see the puck. These are some of the other issues.
  19. Ok, I don't think finley is the whole reason the sioux are struggling. I have never thought this nor will I ever think this. With that said, he has never really impressed me. I don't really like how he plays, I notice him turn the puck over alot and he is a liability against faster teams. To say the team would be great with-out him is a joke, but with that said I would never take him over Radke (who was a healthy scratch last weekend). My stance has always been that he is the worst defensman on the team just because against the better teams he just doesn't have the footspeed or the puck handling skills to not be called a liability. To summerize: He isn't the whole problem, but he is part of it. The team has alot of issues and he is just one of them.
  20. I'm keeping my mouth shut atleast for today.
  21. How about we never say anything about players that can't score against WF (crary). Seriously I am already sick of hearing about this kid. He can light it up against s***** teams, wow. Until he can score on someone that actually has some clout I never want to see his name again.
  22. No, it isn't because they didn't blow them out. It is the fact that they were losing in the third period to a horrible team. This is probably why people would say that.
  23. Well if you mean by leaving early, quitting your high school team then playing no where for a year, then yea GF players leave early. When was the last time a GF player left early to play juniors besides a lamaroux and Ryan P? Fargo has around 110,000 people. I'll take it you will have no response to this.
  24. This is kind of funny! Isn't Minnesota's governer a Republican? Your Demacrat Senators voted to go to war so thank them for that "Complete bull$%!#". What would you do differently, with the economy and also the war? I am curious to see what people with no access to information except what they see on t.v would change about a booming economy? Hiresh 4 goals thats one more then Bina.
