Red river was consistent, they consistently sqweaked by bad teams and then showed up against south.

Toughest EDC's in years? Was that a joke? This might be the worst the EDC has been in 10 years. Look at the fifth seed north, they were awful. WF was worse than in the past years, This might have been the worst central has ever been, Shanley was awful. Red river played a terrible EGF team to 2 one goal games, South handed crookston its only win all year, Grafton got throttled by south 14-4 the only times they didnt play in GPR. Devils lake on the other hand lost to jamestown a team who I believe went two and done in the WDA playoffs.

They seem to have souths number this year. In three games they have only givin up 18 goals. They obviously have a solid goaltender, and a rock solid d-core.

What are you feeling for tommorows games?

This one hurt me alittle bit, I thought this was the year the blades would finnaly break through. I thought going in that if they could stick to their game plan of really packing the net tight and only allow the perimeter shots that they would be able to win this one. I think that shanely team that you are talking about is alittle different than this years team. That team atleast had a few horses that could go. This years shanley team wasn't anymore skilled than whapeton. They don't have a single player that would have made redrivers varsity and a few of shanleys players wouldn't have even made the jvs. If this game is within 15 I will be stunned.

32 credits a semester? The max an undergrad can take is 20 and hardly anyone takes that many. Graduate students very rarely take 16+ credits. Nice post though, very credible. Very well thought out.

Hakstol should recruit these guys because they beat up on some !@#!$ minot team? I mean seriously, maybe if minot hadn't lost to Jamestown and Central this year they might have some credibility. Bottom Line is this: Minot is a Joke, The West is a Joke, The 7 seed in the east beat the #1 seed out West. #2 from the East beats #2 out West 9-1. #1 beats #1 7-1.

Wow you must really think south is deep, Players that aren't even studs on that team could have easily hopped into the USHL? Let me guess, some of there better players could have just as easily entered the WCHA or the NHL?

Well actually if you read some of my older posts, I said the recipe was there. I also said they can beat anyone in the state.

What's the most surprising game? Central let in 3 against whap? Red River Sqweak by a very very average EGF team? Or South beat DL by 4 after red river beat them by one? Well lets break it down. . . Central is bad so that really didn't surprise me too much. Red River isn't that good, except against south so that didn't surprise me too much. South has pretty much done it all this year so nothing would ever surprise me with them, They could have lost by 15 and I wouldn't have been shocked. I guess nothing really surprised me tonight.

My take: UM- Yes, Upside- Tons of Firepower, Downside- Sketchy goaltending SCSU- Yes, Upside- WCHA's top line (Gordan, Nodl, Dey) and Bobby Geopfert, Downside- Depth, this team leans on the top two lines and Geopfert. DU- Maybe, Upside- Talented forwards, Downside- Inconsistent. CC- No, Upside- McCoulloch's scoring, Downside- McCouluchs passing. UND- Yes, Upside- Toew's passing, Lamaroux's goaltending,Duncan's scoring, Downside- None lately. UW- Yes, Upside- Elliot, Downside- Offensive output is much lower than this team expected with that much talent. Mankato- No, Upside- Morin, Downside- Probably not enough guns to win more than a series. MT- No, Upside- Don't give up many goals, Downside- Don't score many goals. UAA- No, Upside- Solid at home, Downside- Brutal on the road. UMD- Maybe, Upside- Niskenan and Raymond Downside- Goaltending has really let them down this year.

I am usually one of the last peopel to come down on officials, but last night was a little sketchy.

Mankato has some firepower (Morin who is in my opinion the best player in WCHA and maybe the NCAA). Their goaltending has also improved. Sioux should sweep though with how well they are playing.

I heard some ramblings at the local sports store about David Freadrickt (sp) of Fargo South being activated after his "not so recent suspension".

He wasn't even the second best player on his team.

They aren't that talented, If you run down their roster there are definatly holes. They lack defensive depth, and they have way too many wild cards on offense that just can't be trusted. If Diechert isn't on his game, South is very vulnerable. With that said, if he gets hot which I would bet that he will he can carry them past anyone.

Looks like the State might be a little down this year.

I would love to talk to a UND football player that is on scholorship and not going to class, I mean I can understand if your Greg Oden or someone who knows that they aren't going to stay in school. But ditchin class when your playing D2 football or BBall is a joke. I mean seriously when was the last time a D2 Football player that wasn't named Jim Kliensasser was drafted on the first day?

Yea, I said Finley had a solid +2 game along with Bina.

My two cents: Phil played a great game, as expected he is playing very well as of late. Bina and Finley +2 ratings, I expected this out of Bina but not Finley, Very interesting D pair. Duncan keeps putting them away.

Darn that was my upset special for the night. I guess we still have the play in game.
