  1. I was thinking the same thing. He has the talent to play as well as Schmaltz.
  2. Feeling bipolar: Yay! We're ahead 2-0. Oh crap: We're ahead 2-0.
  3. I would love to have a rematch with St Cloud a week from Friday, in St Paul. The playoffs are a great chance for these guys to forget the season full of frustrations.
  4. I think Yon should have laid on the ice until the referees decide what the penalty on Borgen was.
  5. Seems like once a game, we give a freebie goal to our opponents or the referees give a questionable call against us. Tonight is the opposite of last weekend ... Zero -zero after one but we look better than even tonight.
  6. Yeah but our camera guys are way better.
  7. Count me happy Canada is losing (and losing it) ... after a couple more Winter Games where the Russians beat the Germans in the final, the pressure on the NHL to change its mind will build.
  8. if you want to see it again: http://www.nbcolympics.com/news/gold-last-us-scores-third-period-equalizer-wins-shootout
  9. Worst thing about this is it will be hard to fire Stauber now.
  10. If the men's team had brough Wolanin with, they might still be playing. #SimpleAnswer.
  11. Congrats to Jocelyn on one of the all-time great shootout moves. Well done USA!
  12. Watching the Canada vs Finland game with mixed emotions: Canada losing would recreate the uproar that used to happen every four years when Canada failed to medal, from the 1970s until the NHL allowed its players to go. That pressure is what it will take for the NHL to change its mind. (Yeah I am boycotting the NHL for 2 weeks.) But I would love to see Genoway get a medal.
  13. USA network showing the Slovakians leading Not Russia 3-2. In a weird tournament that would be a large upset. PS I miss NHL referees more than I miss NHL players.
  14. Keeping the streak alive ... different lineup every game. Winning this weekend sets up keeping two more important streaks alive - the conference home ice and the NCAA appearances. Getting home ice certainly makes the road to Sioux Falls easier. And winning this weekend gives us a boost. PS Let's show up Friday.
  15. MVP ! Congratulations Brock Boeser!
  16. Boeser with a classic snipe from the slot giving his Pacific team a 3-2 lead. Also the GWG as it stands.
  17. Congratulations Ludvig!
  18. I'm not a goaltending expert, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express, so I have a question. Wondering whether / how much / our goaltending misses Karl Goehring.
  19. Moved to 8:08 PM for TV ... the game is the second half of the CBS Sports Network doubleheader.
  20. But at North Carolina, that's senior level classwork (for their athletes).
  21. Poganski with a sweet deke on the 3rd UND goal. Sweet. Nick Jones with a very ice-aware pass to set up Poganski.
  22. Wonder who else has gotten the shaft from a questionable video review ... Kawaguchi's goal still looks good to me. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=211686258&DB_OEM_ID=13500 The combination of gifting powerplays and goals is the only thing keeping them out of the NCHC basement.
  23. Good think his regular job gets him LOTS OF PRACTICE at that ...
  24. For those of us who like to see perseverance and dedication rewarded, tonight Jeff Glass made his NHL debut at age 32. Goaltending for Chicago at Edmonton, he won his first game and was named the game's #1 star. For those of us with great memories, he was the goaltender for Team Canada in Grand Forks at the 2005 WJC. (I had not remembered that.) Another alumni of that tournament makes it to The Show.
