Wonder who else has gotten the shaft from a questionable video review ... Kawaguchi's goal still looks good to me. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=211686258&DB_OEM_ID=13500 The combination of gifting powerplays and goals is the only thing keeping them out of the NCHC basement.

Good think his regular job gets him LOTS OF PRACTICE at that ...

For those of us who like to see perseverance and dedication rewarded, tonight Jeff Glass made his NHL debut at age 32. Goaltending for Chicago at Edmonton, he won his first game and was named the game's #1 star. For those of us with great memories, he was the goaltender for Team Canada in Grand Forks at the 2005 WJC. (I had not remembered that.) Another alumni of that tournament makes it to The Show.

Far too early, but what the hell...Bracketology

While we are talking Selection, I would like to suggest the following change to process: "Instead of the Committee ranking and placing teams, the Committee stops at ranking them. Then, the Committee places hosts and seeds them. Finally, to fill the bracket, the Committee asks schools where they wish to play." In this example, the Committee first calls St Cloud. Perhaps they choose to play in Sioux Falls OR maybe Motzko wants to be somewhere else. Then, Notre Dame and on down until the #16 seed is placed in the only remaining spot. It would make Selection Sunday way more interesting. -

Denver vs Providence, this time in Bridgeport. Like it. -
Dink DiPietro called for interference. Color me happy.

Lost in the frantic shuffle of the final seconds was a critical face off win by Simonson. Kudos to him. On the minus side, there's two coachable moments in the last 3 minutes. Those are the penalties on Wolanin and Shaw. Each guy took his hand off the stick and reached out, which led to the calls. (Yeah the one on Wolanin was a dive but he can't do that ...) AND importantly, both penalties occurred in non-threatening places - "unnecessary" to say the least. I'd be surprised if either guy does that again.

Sorry I spoke too soon. THREE makeup calls as a result of Murray's jawboning. ARGH.
-
So Andy Murray rages at the refs and gets not just one makeup call but TWO. Ridiculous late game calls.

Hadn't seen this anywhere so will go here. Matt Frattin and Chay Genoway will get a look at the Canadian Olympic team. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/winter/hockey/canada-olympic-hockey-channel-one-cup-tim-wharnsby-1.4427290

The first minute of the power play has doubled our scoring chances on the night. Well done boys.
-
Sadly, we're making Schlossman's prediction look good. That second goal was littered with gross errors on our part. But hey you can't sit five players.
-
Team should be a little upset, especially when Berry notes we haven't won on Black Friday for over 5 years.
-
!@#$ this !@#$. I'm going to bed.
-
Denver scoring the goal may have taken the crowd out of the game for a short time.
-
Our forwards are getting great back pressure on the puck tonight. Playing 5x5, Denver isn't getting much space in their attacking zone. Nicely done.
-
Good grief. Denver guy runs into Smith and Smith gets a penalty? I don't recognize the game at times anymore.
-
We are doing a nice job of keeping the game simple. Zone to zone. Predictable for teammates to join the play. Nice start.
-
Denver game announcers getting desperate ... Liam Finley blasts into Thome and they talk themselves into thinking it wasn't a penalty.
-
"First prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Second prize is a aet of steak knives."
-
Shocked if any DU coach wants his recruits to be hearing "Let's Go Sioux" all night.
-
Yee-haa. A win that can define a season. And, yeah, Monty goes crazy at the refs after the final horn! It doesn't get better than this. Congrats, boys.
-
I would love to know what we changed (or if we changed anything) that has shut Denver's attack off at the blue line. Any coaches out there who may have seen "why"?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidi_Game Well, tonight is the 49th anniversary of the Heidi game.

Tonight I have seen less poise on the puck ... many unforced icings that make the whole night difficult. That'is fixable, thankfully.
