I've never been prouder to be a UND hockey fan than tonight. Down 3 frontline players (Jones, Hextall, Lapoint), and on a night with emotions running high, the guys stayed focused on winning the game. Revenge can come later, but the important thing was to win, and they SOMEHOW did that. Even after getting tested with a slash at the final whistle, they kept composure. Superb character. Thanks guys.

Why is it that I feel fortunate that we're up 2-1 after 2 periods?

Harvard up 3-1 on Cornell, 3rd period. Would give us a shot at closing the gap on Cornell, currently #8.

I hope the coaches keep the guys focused on the game. This will be difficult.

I like the comment about Cornell having to face UND "in the Fighting Sioux backyard". Yup, we'll definitely have that Gopher crowd cheering on the Sioux. Which is actually good since UND is 4-0-1 in the last 5 at The John.

I was wondering when this thread would come back to "pair-wise".

Considering how many Sioux fans basically drove through Omaha on the way to St Louis and Denver (well, almost) stopping halfway in Omaha would be very good.

The FSN broadcast in the first intermission brought back some fond memories of 1979. Last game of the season, winner gets the WCHA title, at the old Williams Arena, UND vs Minnesota, 4-2 but the outcome was in doubt the whole way until Christian blasted a slapshot into the empty net. I don't think I was ever so hoarse as that night.

One great big frickin love fest. Hextall gets two weeks to develop and test special Valentine's Day material. Kozek gets a little time to rest up. Mankato gets some time to heal also....
