I'd try to pool up with some friends and get a cluster of 2x4 or 2x6 ... that means that when you start travelling, you'll have partners willing to help sell your seats. I like the energy of the student section, and I think your boys will too so I would go attacking blue line so that both goals are visible above the glass. I'd also go so that aisle-walkers don't block your view of the near goal. Nothing more annoying than missing a goal because someone's going up/down. That may mean going to middle of row... tough to tell. I'd also recommend keeping your siouxsports.com userid, because a fair number of people will be interested in most of their WCHA games, especially on weekends the Sioux have a bye.

You may need a computer (I think it will be live online) ... don't assume its live in the western time zones...

Sweden, Russia AND Canada in the opposite bracket. USA has a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Let's make something of it, boys.

I like the plus minus stats from tonight's game. For USA +3: Parise, Suter +2: Langenbrunner, Rafalski, Stastny and, for the critics: -1: Jack Johnson, Kessel, Malone, Brown, Whitney -2: Pavelski For Canada: +2: Toews-2: Richards -3: Crosby, Nash

I bet Captain Serious wasn't.

Does anyone really think the guys are interested in the arena? Or is it the twins?

USA Network had this afternoon's, CNBC will have the second game, and I would bet they put some weekday action on MSNBC.

Here's the story on the carnage - USA vs China: http://www.vancouver2010.com/olympic-hocke...hw400b01bq.html Early in the second, showing Monique with a couple assists.

As the NHL approaches the Olympic break, its cool to see Jonathon Toews leading the league in shootout goals: http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.htm?fet...wName=shootouts Oshie and Parise also rank in the top 20.

Bandwagon!!!! I didn't know there was a bandwagon. Hosed! Count me in!

I applaud the Siouxsports.com administrators. They walk a tough narrow line, and do it well. The result is that this board is way more interesting than other sites / boards sponsored by other teams. Proof that this board is interesting? Compare the thread counts, posts, views to any other board, and it shows it works.

How many of Coach Idalski's recruiting classes are now on the team? I think its just one (but I may be wrong). The Warroad goaltender recruit is a good read: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/149746/

As I left the arena tonight, I was fuming mad. And as I walked past the MacNaughton Cup, I thought what kind of coaches we have. Then it got cold outside.

I'm here now, so its really gone into the basement. ... There are a handful of Eastern schools who've really committed to be competitive year in and year out, and Cornell is at the top of that list. (Maine, BC, BU, UNH...) So, yes I like any school who takes the game seriously, and would like to see them on the schedule more often (not that there's much room).

I hope Hexy gets a seat right behind the DU bench...

Why is it that everytime Hennessey says "Esposito", I get nervous? I have no idea whether he's any good, but the name itself conjures up images ....

The CCHA has now got it right. And since switching to their current format, they are winning more NCAA games. Time for the WCHA to stop beating our best teams up just before the season's biggest games - the NCAA. I would advocate a BYE WEEK for the top four seeds. Then a second week with four "quarterfinal" series - best of three. And a "final four" in St Paul. You can keep or delete the third place game. I like a team that takes pride at the chance to represent, anytime anyplace. However, since I believe WCHA would benefit from fewer league games at the end, I would vote to delete (and give our teams a longer rest for NCAA.)

Good question for Eades would be "who was better?"

That was the most bizarro game I've seen in a long time. Loved the Sioux play for long LONG stretches, including tons of point blank chances. Then the brown and yellow come down and get the bounce. Repeat. As Hak noted in the postgame, there was one mental mistake (Gleason firing into Lucia that led to the break) but I never thought we were out of it either, until the clock went inside 2 minutes. I was also happy that we played strong and clean in the third period. The bench is too damn short already, and we need ALL the healthy bodies and no suspensions going into Cornell (which is a more important weekend for PWR / NCAA purposes than the Minnesota games, oddly enough). Nice bit of discipline from what was a very frustrated bench. Its somewhat amazing that this was the first loss at Mariucci for any of the Sioux, even the seniors who end 4-1-1 at the John for their careers. Last, I agree with the comment (forget who should get credit) to switch Kristo off the line with Trupp and Malone. Put Kristo on a different line and get Trupp and Malone a 3rd playmaker for that line.

I have a good feeling about tonight's game. Get the first goal, build from there.
