It seems to me some of the things said by Wooger/FM and/or Sonmor on-air are more critical of the officials than Dubay's comments off-air, especially Glen when he gets wound up.

Wasn't Hak associate head coach for Blais and probably had a lot to do with recruiting the players that he ended up coaching? FYI - Lucia was at CC while the UM Frozen 4 teams were being recruited.

Alot will depend on the zebra and how many power plays each team gets.

The NHL enforces stick fouls more aggressively than any other league in organized hockey. If the Alaska Anchorage series was officiated with NHL rules, AA would have been in the box the entire weekend. The refs aren't going to catch every sneaky spear (Jason Blake) but overall the game is much more watchable than the slash fest the WCHA too often becomes. Regarding the game in question (Pitt v NYI) Sid was protected by a teammate earlier in the game after Sid took a hard open ice hit, which is normally the case.

Being an agitator is OK - but backing down - especially from Sid the Kid - was weak.

If you were able to stop Ryan Duncan, Toews and Drew Stafford, then you got to see Rastislav Spirko, Travis Zajac and T.J. Oshie. The second line has been quiet lately for UND, though. Chris Porter hasn't scored in 12 games and Matt Watkins hasn't scored in eight. Tonight, they'll play with Brad Miller, and they need to get some production... Bingo!! And what about next year, when Porter/Toews/Oshie will/probably will be gone? Who's on the 1st line?

Other than the competency of the officials themselves, the biggest problem with the officiating is there is no consistent standard of play, unlike the NHL (which have obviously more competent officials as well). Until they start calling all the stick/holding penalties and get 2 referees on the ice, WCHA hockey will continue to be frustrating to watch.

Nothing justifies what the coaches did. However, it was the 2nd game in a row at UM that they got the shaft - remember the AR calling a CFB 5xgame from the 100+ feet away when the R was standing 5 feet from the play in December. I don't know if I could keep my cool watching the officiating in this league. It's pathetic.

No problem. Lee just needs to play like he did to make the USA Jr team as a HS player, win Mr. Hockey in Minnesota, get drafted in the 1st round in the NHL, and most importantly, be offered a scholarship to play at UND.

FYI - At the WJ, he was playing with the 1st PK unit that was pretty successful in the medal round - not the PP - Chorney got time on the PP. Way way out in left field.

A little more offense from Porter/Watkins/Kozek would be nice - a lot more offense from Zajac, Forney and VV would be even better.
