We need them back, especially for these 2 road series.
-
Turris has 50+ goals and over 100 points - both Turris and McDonagh are rated in the top 15 in the latest CSS rankings - that's tough to beat. The success of the of the 07 class will largely depend on if the 06 class develops - they have a long way to go.
-
Lapoint is the only game changer in the bunch - no dominant forward (aka parise/towes) in the bunch - without that you can't say their class is the best in the nation. Badgers class is better.
-
We are not the players/coaches - we can get ahead of ourselves. I think they need 4 points the next 2 weeks, a 1st round playoff win, and one win at the X to get to the NCAA's. SOS will go up as we play out the rest of the season, which will help. I think 6-7 points will get us 3rd place.

The best U20 D in the world turned the puck over that led to a breakaway Friday in CC. All D will turn the puck over/make a bad pass in the course of a 60 minute game. If blogs were around in the stone ages, some of you would have been nit picking James Patrick, Howard Walker, Ian Kidd, etc.
-
We also want a Friday afternoon game at the X.
-
SS has added the bonus - we drop to 12 when you add the bonus. Two reasons we have dropped recently, even without losing - Strength of Schedule goes down playing MSM and UMD and Bemidji dropping out of TUC. Our SOS will go up the next 2 weeks playing DU and SCSU. We also need UMinn to keep winning.

1. The trap has nothing to do with clutching and grabbing. Your team can clutch and grab and not run the trap. The trap is a delayed forecheck tactic that can be used effectively without clutching and grabbing. 2. From what I have read/been told, the trap was first used in Europe, mainly by the Czechs, to counteract the Soviet"weaving" style of offense during the 70's, which of course was played on Olympic ice. If you are a less skilled team, the trap would be needed more on a big ice sheet rather than an NHL rink.

I emailed Spiros and here's what he said "You are correct. I wrote it the right way and an editor changed it. I have asked the paper to print a correction. Dean"

Anyone watching Oshie play his senior year knew he was ready - which is why his stock rose and became the 24th pick in the NHL draft and made the USA Jr. team. Anyone watching Forney play his senior year knew he was no Oshie - which is why he dropped to the 3rd round of the NHL draft. The coaches brought Forney in this year because they had to - remember 2 fowards left early. Nobody is throwing him under the bus. He just isn't ready this year.

We aren't the players/coaches - we don't have to take it one game at a time.
-
If you look at the schedule, it is not as remote as it seems - plenty of head-to-head action for those teams, plus games vs. UM for both CC and SCSU, + plus we have 2 games in hand on DU (don't forget the trip to the Winter Carnival for DU as well). Don't be surprised - if we get 12-13 more points, anything can happen. However, even if we don't rise in the standings, getting 12-13 more points means we are continuing the 2nd half surge, which bodes well for WCHA/NCAA playoffs.

And, when possible, play on Fri afternoon - more time to rest for the Sat nite champ tilt.

Root for Bemidji State, Dartmouth and St. Lawrence, as well as the Gophers. This helps our RPI, TUC record and COp record. Also, if BSU could move into the top 15 in RPI we could get some road win bonus points. Hope AA and Wisco keep losing - they could drop out of TUC. Denver/SCSU/CC all have tough schedules down the stretch - (DU/SCSU have to play us) If the teams above beat on each other and we keep playing well, 3rd place is not out of the question. I love the Friday afternoon F5 game at the X.
-
Turris + McDonough is pretty good - I would take both
-
Wisco's 2007 is better.

Transcript, anyone?

Did AHA beat SSM over the weekend?
-
I thought so. Last time in 1980 - but Muzzacco said that didn't really count because of the '80 Olympics and all their good players were gone.

Did Blais ever sweep UM at the John?
