Was there any discussion in the agreement that would ban UND from forming a deal with only Spirit Lake? The two tribe rule was for using "Fighting Sioux" and the current logo, but what if there was some change to the name and logo, but were still Native American in substance (with full approval from the Nation? Get Spirit Lake on board, and then inform the NCAA. Too bad UND's administration is hostile to the current name and can't wait for the change to take place.

On the flip side, the vast majority of my coworkers in Minneapolis have no idea who or what NDSU or USD is. Couldn't find them on a map if their life depended on it. But they sure as hell know who the Fighting Sioux are. That also goes for when I lived in DC, Colorado, and Hawaii.... even when I was overseas, including Iraq. This awareness had absolutely nothing to do with the FB of BB programs... it was all about Hockey.

Wishful thinking. If a BTHC ever happens, each school will need to schedule 20+ non-conference games each season to be competitive with the other conferences. At least half of those games,or 10+ series/weekends, will be on the road. Wisconsin and Minnesota will continue to play a packed WCHA schedule. If you want to beat the best, you have to play the best. Personally, I welcome Notre Dame and Miami into a Hockey Super Conference.

Maybe the non-goal call was one of those "intent" calls... they intended to blow the whistle, but couldn't react before the puck crossed the line? regardless... should have been a goal. lots of poor calls/non-calls this game. and what was up with the quick calls? poor positioning on the stripes.

Horrible play by Malone (?) who called for the puck and then shot it 195 feet for an icing, which gave RMU a face off in the zone and an opportunity to pull their goalie. RMU scores on subsequent face off/play.

As long as public/tax payer dollars are involved, appointed and elected officials (overseers and appropriators) will be involved in some matters. It's in the best interest of both schools to make the deal, or someone else (Bismarck) will make it for them.
