  1. UNH Merrimack scoreless midway thru the first. Wildcats look a little listless on senior night. And now UNH score 1-0, on their second shot of the game. 6:00 to go in the first.
  2. yep
  3. great interview with Lefty Curran. Gotta love him, a class act.
  4. Natalie Nicholson is the lead for the team that will represent the USA in Vancouver. Congrats to her. Team USA should have a decent shot at medaling. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/arti...653/group/home/
  5. I guess since we scored, now we are allowed to have sound of the webcast.
  6. love the shout out from steady eddie
  7. What is also interesting is that UND is above Bakersfield, who was a serious power at the DII level. Coach Sampaio has done a great job. While there is very little chance, I'd love to see UND do everything possible to get Dagny Knutson. She would put the program on the map and could potentially be the greatest athlete to ever dawn Sioux green. There are very few North Dakotans would can be considered very realistic Olympic gold medal threats and Knutson is one of them. It would be great to keep her at home. Having here would also likely really help international recruiting, where we have done quite well in the past. Q&A with Knutson
  8. Playing in Texas and California makes sense, that's where the players are and they can't all go to Texas and USC. Focusing west makes a lot of sense, especially as teams continue to drop like flies in those areas. That's one concern about the Great West. I think both UC-Davis and Cal Poly will likely move to FBS to rationalize the expense of football in California's economic climate. Sac. St. just seems like a program that will eventually be dropped. That will essentially eliminate small college football in the state. Several Big Sky schools also have football programs that may be in precarious positions positions. You could see a potential domino effect of UC-Davis and Cal Poly to the WAC Sac. St., Portland State and Northern Arizona to the Big West (dropping football for financial reasons) Denver, Southern Utah, UND, USD to Big Sky Big Sky would then have the enviable 10-9 format allowing for four home and away games in football each year. Travel partners would be Weber - SUU UND-USD UNC-Denver EWU-Idaho St Montana-Montana St. There's certainly not a high likelihood of all that going down, but for the most part it is pretty reasonable. And for now looking west makes sense because we are playing in a western league. Also just as important, we are marketing the school and there are a ton of students to be hooked out west, and with North Dakota's stagnant to declining youth population that is another concern.
  9. Mavs win it in OT!! Woohoo!!!!!
  10. 6-3 BU Stick a fork in UMass
  11. And now it's 5-3 Terriers. Shades of the 1997 Championship game. Natural hatty for Jason Lawrence.
  12. bu closes to within 3-2 on another PPG. And now they tie it up at 3. 2:30 left in the 2nd
  13. PPG BU 3-1 UMass 13:30 left in 2nd
  14. 3-0 UMass a minute into the 2nd. BU looks lethargic and UMass really buzzing
  15. UMass just scored 1-0 vs BU
  16. Another missed opportunity is Canada. And this is where the lack of leadership in the WCHA Commissioners office is so obvious. Hockey East now has a TV deal with Rogers Sportsnet putting games on in Atlantic Canada. UND should look to do something similar with the Sportsnet branch that serves Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This would be a huge recruiting coup, as Canadian players could be watched by their friends and families. If Denver, CC, UND and UAA partnered to create a weekly package you might be able to get both Sportsnet West and Sportsnet Pacific to pick it up.
  17. It makes a ton of sense. I'd love to see FSSN do a deal with the YES network for UND hockey. The gold standard college hockey program aligning with the gold standard of pro sports. It would be a perfect complement since the hockey and baseball seasons mirror almost perfectly. Even if they only got $1 and a few ad spots a game, the coverage alone would absolutely be worth it. REA could even align with that food service deal that the Cowboys and Yankees have put together. Why not bring together the finest hockey, football and baseball facilities on the planet.
  18. A lot still depends on whether Dartmouth can regain TUC status. If they don't then it's highly likely that none of Cornell (at least against UND), Yale or Princeton will make the 10 game TUC requirement and that category will get thrown out of the comparisons. In that case, those comparisons will essentially be RPI only. Yale losing to Princeton was better, because the Princeton comparison is still flippable, but a Yale win would have made the Yale-UND comparison almost impossible to flip, especially if Dartmouth is a TUC. While UND did not appear to move up a great deal, when you look at the RPIs now, the Sioux could make up a great deal of ground with a sweep of CC and just a little help. Remember that this is the last weekend for the top CCHA and ECAC clubs, and they will be off when UND travels to Madison. Should the Sioux win their last four games, a move up to even 5 is possible. Teams to root for next weekend Michigan State - (2 vs Notre Dame), will help RPI and help Sioux in COP comparison with Irish Air Force - (2 vs RIT) sweep would knock RIT from TUC status, allowing Dartmouth or Mankato to potentially move up. Boston U - (2 vs UMass) will knock UMass from TUC status, doubly beneficial Ohio State/Miami - split will keep either from gaining ground in RPI Harvard - win vs. Princeton will help UND in COP comparison with Tigers Cornell - win vs Yale will help UND in COP comparison with Bulldogs. UND should pass Cornell in RPI with sweep of CC, since win over Brown would be thrown out for RPI purposes. Merrimack - even if UNH sweeps them, UND can possibly pass them in RPI with sweep of CC St. Cloud - besides helping to give some breathing room in the league standings. A DU loss along with sweep of CC will flip COP and overall comparison to UND.
  19. lucky for you. All I get is buffering and pixellation. Same thing last night. Worst webcast I've experience. Makes me long for dataflix.
  20. unh 3 bc 2 final
  21. BC kills off a penalty, then a minute later scores to cut UNH lead to 3-2 3:00 left in the 2nd
  22. BC scores, still down 3-1 to UNH 8:45 to go in 2nd
  23. UNH getting a brief 5-3 against BC leading 2-0 15:30 to go in 2nd. update .. PPG 3-0 UNH
  24. I too was thinking slew foot, but I don't recall ever seeing that called in a college game. And you are right that it is an extremely dangerous play, anywhere on the ice. It puts the victimized player in a position to slam the back of their head on the ice with not opportunity to catch themselves or regain balance. But to expect such a call from a WCHA crew right now is probably a bit much. I also wouldn't mind seeing a league or NCAA rule mandating a game DQ for any major penalty in the final five minutes of a game. That might end garbage like occurred at the end of the game or last week in Duluth.
