  1. Oh my gosh people! Please tell me all this conspiracy talk is just something to get you through to game day. I have a lot of respect for 90% of the posters here; but I gotta tell you, I'm starting to get scared reading some of these posts.
  2. Good for Brian. I am surprised, frankly, that they re-signed him. The Sens added a d-man at the trade deadline iirc; I expected that to signal Lee's release.
  3. "Regular season" not playoff. And I think he's gone after this year. He is looking more and more "ready" every shift.
  4. I have a feeling this will go down as Gregoire's last regular-season goal at The Ralph.
  5. Wow. Look at Duluth! Fifth place in the WCHA and if the PWR holds, and they don't win the Final Five, they'll be left out of the NCAA tourney! Amazing what a losing streak will do.
  6. That is an unbelievable statistic. Good for ZPar.
  7. Yeah, no kidding! I don't get all the Sidney hate. Dude only does everything that's asked of him, and he isn't a showboat at all.
  8. Probably just a jersey-popper anyway.
  9. Played too long with Jonesy.
  10. You need to help me here. Where in the rule book is this "intent to injure"?
  11. Then you sure as heck ought to be pleased the WCHA is finally cracking down on hits to the head. Do you even read your own posts?
  12. Ouch.
  13. ^Yes. He's definitely changed that team.
  14. I'm fairly certain Cepis' ability to celebrate was a major consideration in bringing him to the UofM. Since Kessel, Danny Irmen, et al have all moved on, they felt they needed to shore up that part of their game.
  15. Man. The bottom of the Pairwise chart has some big-time schools on it: Michigan, Boston U, Minnesota, Maine. There are going to be a lot of fans who are used to cheering into April finding themselves with nothing to do this year.
  16. Yes. And the use of the word "stole" seems inappropriate.
  17. Absolutely. I am in complete agreement with you that the league is running a horrible game right now. I spend a lot of money every year to be able to watch excellent players demonstrate their skills. Players who will shortly be taking those skills to a professional level. I can say I saw them play "when they were kids, playing for the love of the game". The officiating has diminished the level of play, and by extension, my ability to enjoy the games. I am completely fed up with McLeod et al. But as long as the WCHA is making money and attracting top talent, I just don't expect any executive heads to roll. I wish they would.
  18. Here's the problem with you and I thinking about McLeod et al doing a crappy job: the league is once again approaching a dominant position in the (admittedly small) world of college hockey. Six (or seven, counting Bemidji) of the top 11 teams in the latest USCHO poll; the Final Five is a huge money-maker; top recruits continue to pour into the WCHA. I don't think the powers-that-be are coaches: doesn't each member school have a representative on some governing body? IIRC UND's rep isn't even the AD. It isn't people are directly involved in hockey who are in charge of McLeod et al keeping their jobs. I don't expect to see wholesale changes in the WCHA until it is irreparably broken.
  19. No way are their jobs on the line. The only people upset about this are UND fans. And we don't count.
  20. Mario was suspended because he was public and vocal about "it". This had very little to do with what happened
  21. nm
  22. "Anger most harms the person who holds it" - Dalai Lama
  23. Knight is another of those kids who really lit the lamp in Juniors, only to come to UND and learn how much tougher the WCHA is to play in. I think he scored over a point a game as a rookie in juniors, was named rookie of the year, and was a top-10 scorer in the AJHL. Nice to see him get some quality ice time, and to show his abilities.
