  1. And surprisingly, Clymer didn't make the same comments when Minnesota swept Arizona State at home the following year 10-2, and 10-0. Clymer isn't one to be taken seriously.
  2. I think the key word here is "should". There have been times in the past when a goalie coming in here has horrible save percentage and goals against, and all of a sudden he becomes a world beater. When I hear Schlossman's latest podcast and hear a lot of "should" referenced, it gives me pause, because it makes it even more frustrating when things don't go as suggested.
  3. But we all know that he had the opportunity to bolt even before he went to Bemidji and kept his commitment, so not sure if his mind will change. Even if he does, I don’t see Strathmann or Emery playing another year of juniors, and don’t believe Jubenvill has the option. Emery could depend on where he gets drafted.
  4. His name was on the roster for the last game Cedar Rapids played, but a bunch of games before that he didn't play. He is/was their leading goal scorer, so I don't think it is a production thing. Would be interesting to know if he was injured for the games he missed, or if something else was going on.
  5. So the NFL suspends Jackson for Denver for 4 games for leading with his helmet on a hit in which Dobbs fumbled and Denver capitalized with a field goal to start the game. So not only do they hurt the Vikings in that game, they also give Detroit help because he will miss that game.
  6. So what the number one ranking means to some fans is that when we lose or don't play well, they can say the players aren't as hungry since they got to #1.
  7. Exactly, it does nothing for me now, except putting a bullseye on us going to Denver next week, that is if they can take care of Bemidji State first. Is the overrated chant still a thing?
  8. That was Buning, right?
  9. Yeah, I imagine the huge comeback win over Minnesota State will boost their confidence. Hoping their goalie doesn't all of a sudden decide to be lights out.
  10. There was also a hit by Loheit earlier in the game that should have been reviewed as a possible 5 minute major. He has been very reckless lately, and you would think after the Adam Johnson tragedy, that there would be a little more respect amongst the players, as you never know when an awkward shove into the boards can turn tragic.
  11. Stop the press, Denver getting a questionable 5 minute power play! Say it isn’t so!
  12. In the same token, Denver will have to play a lot better to beat us. They have given up a ton of goals against Arizona State and Augustana amongst others. They’re not always going to score 6-8 goals, and hopefully Persson can hold them down. Of course they will get the requisite number of power plays to try to keep that pace up.
  13. Imagine them playing BU then, if the BU announcer thinks we aren’t in the same league as BU skating wise!
  14. Jim Rich said they are the runaway leaders in the NCHC. With 3 undefeated, don’t know how they can be runaway leaders, but that is St. Cloud for you. Doesn’t help that we don’t play them at home this year though.
  15. No penalties.
  16. Wouldn’t have had to go for two there if they would have kicked the extra point last time.
  17. Should have got up to the line and clocked it.
  18. Hindsight, but why not lateral that to Siegel.
  19. Or now they could go for 2 and the win.
  20. It was on the chart Dale gave him!
  21. Good thing it wasn’t 4th and 10-15 yards.
  22. Judging by some of the play calling, it seems like that is done during the game.
  23. On defense we consistently get beaten on 3rd and long, but on offense we think it is a bridge too far. Shows that we can’t complete many downfield passes, and that is an indictment on either our philosophy or our recruiting, or both.
  24. With Persson’s parents watching for the first time, and against his old team, I hope not. Maybe next week.
  25. You mean so that this board will have to shut down due to one-off posters coming on to decry why we can't compete with Denver. No thanks! We've seen how in the past confidence is a fragile thing. Would much rather have a weekend like they did against the gophers in Minneapolis on Thanksgiving years ago and take that confidence and run with it.
