  1. Did Michigan State decide they didn't have room for Potter a year early? I think I would have made room for someone like him, even if it meant carrying an extra guy.
  2. You do realize that we have won more league titles than anyone, and that the complaint for the most part isn't the regular season success, but that of the post season. People want to have it both ways, they say all that they care about are post season results, but then complain all the time when we lose games that in their eyes are basically meaningless, except to the extent that they do enough to make the NCAA tournament.
  3. Isn’t it rainy season in October in Seattle?
  4. Now let's see if we can be in on Dayne Beuker or Benak, and we'd really be rolling. Both of them are still available, aren't they?
  5. When you just missed the NCAA tournament a year ago, I’m sure it is tough to go to an unproven goalie against a team that could be a pairwise killer. I guess you have to get them in sometime, but it has got to be a hard decision when you know how tight the final pairwise always is.
  6. Nothing about Bubba screams inspiration. Think of it, the only time his team looked truly inspired was against the Bison last year as a result of a Dale Lennon speech.
  7. Especially since most of the wins are against the worse of the worst.
  8. Bubba seems to have realized by now though that his supposed calling card as a coach—the defense— is absolutely terrible, so he doesn’t show much confidence in them. The fact that he hasn’t been able to fix the defense in forever, as well as his inability to figure out a way for his team to perform on the road is a huge indictment on his regime. Is there any requirement from the administration for him to take at least small steps forward?
  9. …and without our shutdown defenseman.
  10. So when we still had a 3 point lead, did it look like Smith tip toed the sideline and should have been closer to a first down, if not a first down? Only saw the one look, but was wondering if we should have challenged that, if not for the spot alone.
  11. So let me get this straight, Bubba won’t let another quarterback play, except if it is a very short yardage play, or if the game is on the line?

Wow, go figure a young team like BU having growing pains. If we gave up as many breakaways and odd man rushes that they did tonight this board would need to be shut down.
  13. Don’t quit your day job, you may need it for a roof over your head.
  14. If he's allergic to apples, then he better just score goals!
  15. Well then, I hope they can get fired up about seeing the griddy after a road game sometime soon.
  16. Boy, Bubba sure does look different! Hopefully his jump forward this year is where his trajectory is headed, as 9 touchdowns and 11 interceptions the previous year are not in Bubba's game manager mode.
  17. The griddy wears everyone down over time as well.
  18. In no order, Forwards Taylor, Smail, Troy Murray, Hrkac, Panzer, Joyce, Greg Johnson, Ward, Sykes, Toews, Oshie, Parise, with the extra skater being a forward in Kevin Maxwell, since he was a one and done who put up the 3rd most points ever by a freshman. Defense Defense would be Patrick, Ludwig, Roche, Himmelright, Murphy and Parent. Contemplated both Ian Kidd and Jason Herter, but went with guys that were here longer. Goalies Goalies would be Jon Casey, Darren Jensen and Eddie Belfour. Goehring just out of the mix for me.

"If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right" I always have tuna on toast. Nothing's ever worked out for me with tuna on toast. I want the complete opposite of on toast. Chicken salad, on rye, untoasted ... and a cup of tea.

You're not putting him ahead of Joby Bond, are you?
  21. Hakstol's teams were generally not that great before Christmas, but built from there, but just couldn't finish it off. I remember when people mocked the gophers for being a great October, November team, and now our season is over because they didn't produce offensively on the weekend? I think this team has more room for growth than last year's, simply because they have more really young freshmen that hopefully can make a big impact the second half of the year -- Boisvert, Swanson, and Emery.
  22. No, when they allowed the extra paid coach, the volunteer was no longer possible, hence Jason Ulmer not getting to remain to help with faceoffs.
  23. It’s so comical to read the exact same posts after every loss. Yes it isn’t ideal, but I thought we wanted to be a team like Denver that doesn’t start out perfectly but manages to come together better at the end of the year, instead of peaking early.
  24. Really, I expected it to be tough to play against a team like Minnesota State, especially in Mankato. This is good experience to play against teams like this. I do find it funny that people who consistently railed about certain guys needing to be higher up in the lineup, aren’t seeing the results from them having a bigger role. There have always been games like this against tough teams to play against, so not reading too much into it this early.
  25. That’s the thing though, they don’t hold themselves to the same standard in daily life that they hold a college student playing a game!
