  1. Come on, let's give credit where credit is due. We've had plenty of guys missing throughout the year, including tonight, and we don't like when UND plays that card.
  2. This is what I was talking about when I say swagger. Don't sit back and try protect a lead, go after them and add to it. I would like to think that the confidence from this would springboard them, but they looked to gain some swagger at other times this year only to revert back. Here's to hoping that it carries over to the next series and that Denver has lost some swag!
  3. Yes, getting slower against a speedy team seems like a recipe for chasing again all night, only being further behind them this time.
  4. For someone that gets that much playing time it is expected that it will happen occasionally. You could see how hard he worked the rest of the game to remedy that. I sure hope we can get Poolman to stay his senior season, but not sure he would want to deal with the rebuilding process. Shaw, on the other hand makes so many unforced errors that it is amazing that he hasn't had to sit since his freshmen season when he rotated with Wolanin. Nepotism?
  5. Would have been interesting if Todd Anderson had to announce that last penalty on Mismash to the crowd, like they did in the exhibition game!
  6. He is now one the leading scorers in the USHL, so with our problems scoring we better be after him, although I'm sure they think they have enough scorers coming in next year. Guess what, we have seen numerous guys not transition well, so error on the side of more guys with scoring touch. With the new scoreboard coming, mock up a video for him on the huge video board and get him committed.
  7. I was crying for Berry to call a time out 5 minutes into the third, when St. Cloud was all over UND, to no avail. How do you come out in your home rink in a must game in the third period like that in a tie game. Must not have been very motivational between periods, but to be fair they were scored on late in the second to tie the game and the last few years UND teams have been very fragile, no swagger like most UND teams. Unlike their coach, maybe they should get a little mad. Berry should have done a little dasher dancing himself after no review.
  8. If you see the ego, and I see the ego, and most fans see the ego, why doesn't Don Adam see the ego? Oh, yeah, he has an even bigger ego!
  9. Even if you don't see it, an obvious knee injury should call for a review if Kawaguchi nutting the guy in Duluth was reviewed.
  10. The garbage at the end with an injured player and no review takes the focus of what appears to be Brad Berry's philosophy. Get a one goal lead, lay back and try and defend it, then after that fails, go on the offensive again. When St. Cloud doesn't score on the power play they gain momentum, while we always lose momentum. The fact that Berry was happy with the way they played, and blamed it on a bad bounce is very concerning. It seems that expectations are constantly being lowered for UND hockey, and to top it off Tim Hennessey tells a player " you were outshot, but you guys missed the net on a bunch of great chances". You can't make this stuff up!
  11. Would be nice if we would start winning again when we are on National TV, which we are on CBS sports on Friday. Let's get the one tonight, and worry about Saturday tomorrow.
  12. I guess I don't know why people are so up in arms about this. If NDSU isn't truly sold on this guy, and are going to give up a full scholarship for him just to block UND, it would seem that would be a recipe for a serious downturn in their fortunes. It may also be their new coach is worried about the backlash from their rabid fanbase if he turns out to be a stud at UND or wherever he ends up. Don't know if you can recruit like that and continue to be the cream of the crop.
  13. Personally, I don't think you fix any of that, because it isn't exclusive to UND, it is a microcosm of society today. That stuff is our culture today. You need look no further than most reality TV shows that thrive off of conflict. Unless every team is winning championships, there will always be a fire ____ thread. Think about it, we had Hakstol that people wanted fired, all the athletic directors since Carl Miller, all the University Presidents since Clifford, and just about all the coaches from every sport, and frankly it isn't going to change, as we are in a society that requires constant gratification. I'll admit, I get wrapped up in the win now or else mindset, but I think we have to take a step back from that and realize that you don't want to keep going down that road of needing to fire coaches, or else you will end up being like Minnesota Gopher or Cleveland Browns football. There are coaches that need to be fired, but to not even give them a full recruiting class to prove themselves seems a bit over the top. Hopefully, cooler heads prevail, but there is so much more pressure as administrators with rabid fan bases, and our culture isn't helping matters much with social media being so much of a factor in all of that.
  14. Isn't the Ralph itself an extravagance that nobody else in the country has? You wonder why Ralph set up the things the way he did, and it is the very thinking that it is fine to let the Ralph become average and let everyone else keep updating to become better. Other teams have gotten new scoreboards and locker rooms and such, but ours are fine would be the reply. "Fine" is not what they were looking at when they built the Ralph, anybody knows that when they walk inside, so why is it shocking to people when they take steps to keep it at the top of college hockey? I don't recall people screaming "do they really need the marble floors", "why do they need a million dollar pipe organ", "why do they need a fascia ring that nobody else has", "why do they need a therapy pool"...
  15. They can complain that football alumni appear to not care as much as hockey alumni. Some football alumni with some pretty deep pockets, and apparently don't care that the program is lacking amenities. Nevermind the fact how many more football alumni there are.
  16. ...and the people that thought that hockey wasn't going to be priority # 1 with Ralph and his family, including the people that were at the table when the arena contracts were first drawn up, are/were completely detached from reality.
  17. Obviously what they are doing with the scoreboard is permitted, so why are people complaining. I hope they do upgrades like this as often as possible.
  18. With our luck we will sweep a couple of the harder teams then lose to Omaha and CC, then have to face the prospect of facing those hard teams again in the Frozen Faceoff to make the tourney.
  19. ...and we know how St. Cloud and Minnesota State swallowed up all the extra UND fan's tickets in Sioux Falls.
  20. And sometimes it works the opposite way. I remember Nolan Patrick saying he always wanted to play for the Fighting Sioux, yet when push came to shove, he ended up playing for Brandon.
  21. So they are going to put the 4 old video boards in the 4 corners of the upper deck?
  22. So are all the banners above the ice surface now? The rendering shows some up above the student section in the upper deck. Maybe the scoreboard will obstruct the view of some of the banners.
  23. Couldn't tell if we were outshooting them or not though.
  24. The obsession isn't one sided. Don't ever recall people complaining that the football team never used the old logo on their helmets.
