  1. As each year passes it becomes less and less likely the the rivalry will be renewed. Kolpack was right, the era has passed, the football rivalry is dead.

Your right, I'm sure Kolpack and other Bison fans wouldn't bother showing up if the game was scheduled. There probably wouldn't be any more excitement for a game vs. UND than a game vs. SIU, SDSU or USD. It would be an easy ticket to get and I'm pretty sure your Bville message board would be dead immediately after the game was announced or in the weeks leading up to the game. Can I put any more sarcasm into that post. Bison fans trying to sell that they have moved on and wouldn't care about this game is funny. If it gets on the schedule it will immediately be the biggest game for that year. You know it would be.

The reason the game hasn't been scheduled isn't because Gene Taylor and Craig Bohl have moved on. See last years men's basketball and volleyball if you want the reason.

  2. I don't know. I am sure nothing too terrible would happen. I wouldn't expect them to get kicked out of school or anything. We'll see what el Presidente does. I would assume whatever he does is what would happen to a normal student.

Fair enough. In my opinion if you fill in the blanks they would be boarderline kicked out but I respect your opinion.

  3. Thanks for getting the thread started. Time to forget about last night. Next week is our first official Big Sky game. The boys better be focused. This will be a big one in our race to six more wins and a shot at the playoffs.

  4. I can fit in just fine. If people on here are willing to quit trying to make NDSU out as this horrible place and how all of the fans clearly are worse than UND fans, etc etc. than I am willing to be an objective person as well. See my posts in the football threads.

Lets get one thing straight, I was brainwashed from the moment I was conceived in 1991.

Johnnyboy, question for you since your a student at NDSU. Since your coach, AD and president want all these players to be treated the same as students in this case. What do you think would happen to a NDSU student who has been kicked out of the dorms for _____ (I know you know), been in trouble for______ (I know you know), maybe had a couple other offenses and than had this on thier record?

  5. What's everyone's thoughts on the defensive struggles? I know tackling has been poor but is it the play up front getting us in troble or is it the new secondary not filling when called upon? I don't know the answer but if our tackling doesn't improve the game against Cal Poly will be a challenge. I'm not looking past Sac. St as that will be a challenge and they have proven they can compete with FBS schools but the game vs. Poly is one that I circled at the beginning of the year.

  6. Well folks, it's been good fishing.

I found out that nothing has changed in Sioux country. You have a first-class hockey program to be proud of, and you're envious as hell of North Dakota State's football dynasty. Because you can't have it, you would like to burn it down. It's been over 50 years of it now. The theme never changes. I thought that perhaps ya'll had evolved. I was wrong.

You've repeated this 3 or 4 times now yt you keep coming back on the board trying to brag up your program we don't care about. We aren't discussing the wins and losses of your program. We are discussing the lack of discipline within it. Maybe if NDSU could simplify the 4 stages a person goes through for punishment things would be easier. I mean, you would think the head coach of your football program could handle giving a punishment without having to get the ok from all the way across campus if he truely believed there should be punishment. He has done it before right?

  7. That wouldn't recieve any attention on this site if it didn't involve NDSU. Your kidding youself if you think otherwise. Synthetic drugs are a legal problem that effect the entire state of ND and I haven't heard anyone discuss it on here. Why? Because you haven't moved on.

So you want your program to get attention when they are winning and things are going good, but when your coach and AD trip over thier dicks trying to sweep things under the rug and your president is left with the broom trying, unsuccessfully, to clean things up, you would rather have no attention on your team. I think I am following your logic.

  8. Next week's game is going to set the tone for the rest of the season...BS opener (officially), coming off 1st loss, on the road and vs. a team that can actually BEAT a FBS squad!

I'm not a big fan of Muss, but I think next week will really determine what kind of coach he is. He has to shore up the defense...tackling is a step up from flag FB and this is IMO the worst assignment played UND D I've seen since the 80's. We are very sloppy and undisciplined at times. Have to limit the deadball fouls and stupid penalties. The penalty on SDSU's early punt was essentially a TO. Have to try to get the running game going a little bit. Miller has been a complete non-factor so far this season. Not going to win many games getting outrushed 290+ to 50+.

But the 4 WRs we put out there in the spread rival what some of the better FBS teams throw out there...and that includes CSU! Let me know if any FCS team can spread you out with 4 better!?!? Probably could use one hand less a couple fingers.

So the elephant in the room this week will be who plays QB if we have 2 healthy guys and both are ready to go? My call would be you stick w Marcus to start the game. To say he has pulled his weight in 2 games is an understatement.

If UND wins at Sac St., I think they finish top 3 in BS. If not, could be an up and down season in the BS.

And to those who keep feeding the 'SU tools who frequent this site...enough already. Until we put a complete product on the field, be quiet! 6-3 vs FBS and a Natty last season leave us know room to question or critizise their FB team(s). Now the LOIC/criminal activity is another matter, but keep that in the Community threads...not here.

Well said Oxbow. I agree with your post. I said all offseason that I believe Muss has come a long way as head coach and can get the job done. Next week he and the team can prove that. Lots to be frustrated about but the guys have to bounce back next week in a big way.

  9. Never said they were, but 3-2 versus BCS teams is pretty good, when some on here want to degrade NDSU for something UND has yet to accomplish I have every right to defend it

And you should. I'd take a win vs. any of those teams.

  10. Defense needs to pick it up this half. That first half was ugly.

Offense looks good, the one turnover we could afford hurt.

Special teams, roughing the punter killed us. Had a chance to get off the field. Miller rock solid as usual.

Mistake free football wil get us back in the 2nd half. Sloppy first half but a score on this first possession and we're right back in it.
