You won't see any specifics on the ndsu or the und university discipline processes, they are internal and protected by any university. NDSU at least said that they players would be disciplined by that process, while I did not remember reading that in the paper in september up north, and I haven't seen any info since then.
What games were the und players suspended for, the Manitoba and U-18 exhibitions? Say it isn't so, that's embarrassing if it was. That would be like ndsu suspending players for the green v gold game.
See the link above. Seems like there are some specifics in there. The UND players were suspended the first regular season games that were played after they were in trouble. Not some extra gassers at practice. Go ahead and keep trying though.

As far as we know from a media reporting standpoint, there was somthing that happened involving alcohol and underage drinking, and five players got suspended for 1 game. We had Zero knowledge of any charges filed or that any university discipline would occur other than game suspensions. Suspensions occurred at start of the season to limited impact to players and team, because winning is all that really matters, and boys will be boys. Wasn't it bascially a preseason or non-con game where the suspensions occurred? Please enlighten me on the specific game. Also, according to the reporting, no MIPs were issued to all the underage players involved in the situation, just the 5 players who were of legal age who were suspended. What is up with that, did the cops just look the other way?
In NDSU's situation, we had a suspension (1 player for #1 vs #3), university discipline process discussed openly in a press conf, legal charges filed (at the same level as the und players), and medial stories at the start, the middle, the end and still happening with local, state "and" regional papers.
And shockingly, people on this board smugly criticize the ndsu situation as not being treated seriously enough and see the lack of media coverage in the UND situation as no big deal that it was reported in September when no knowledge of legal charges were known. I guess these types of situations are only important and get media coverage when DI championship teams are involved. I guess UND hockey is not the biggest deal in ND or the region.

The reaction by Faison was a little different than Taylor's "they have suffered enough" reaction. You guys keep trying to justify how your AD and coach tripped over thier dicks with that situation. I'm sure the extra conditioning they had to do taught them that forging signitures was wrong.

I would get a hold of the forum than and ask them. The UND athletic dept. handled this already and will let the rest play out in court to see if anything further needs to happen. Its called getting out in front of the story, not saying "they have already suffered enough" and just waiting for it to pass over.

As I have said all along, I knew that would be a tough one to get. When he didn't commit the following week after his visit, I figured he would be looking closer to home.
I figure when I read your post a couple days ago on him that it was a longshot. Hopefully this final week goes well. Still some pretty talented high school players that haven't committed. Its been pretty quiet on the recruiting front for the last week.

According to Rivals Jameer Thurman committed to Indiana St. today. Was hoping we could add him to our nice list of Illiniois recruits.

I know Dickinson quite intimately...and it's always been a very pro-NDSU town, much to my chagrin. Dickinson-Trinity had been an exception as that school piped in some pretty good UND guys in the 1980s when it was Class A. That may have turned now, too. There is a strong but small pro-UND base in Dickinson among the varsity hockey and park and rec hockey communities, but, that's about it. Getting UND guys out of Dickinson is like drawing blood from a turnip. It's not like Bismark, Minot and Devils Lake.
UND has done well recruiting Dickinson prior to the transition. We lost a few during that time. I can assure you Kubik was leanig towards FU the entire time. They were the only school besides Mary to offer $$$, and it was an pretty easy decision on his part when they did. We have a very strong OL class right now and I'm sure that factored into trying to get him as a PWO instead of offering money.

I would hate to lose any of these guys right before signing day. It is going to be interesting to see how the week and a half leading up plays out.

Wow, what a comeback. Down 22 at one time in the first half. We are now up 1 a few minutes into the 2nd half. Really running the offense through Wilmer. Getting him touches and letting him pass out of the post. Team is playing much better team ball right now. Not the same team from early in the game.

I'm lost at this point who have we gained over the recruiting peried so far and as a whole how does the defense look compared to this fall?
A couple solid D-linemen, two safeties and one LB in Schobert Disterhaupt and possibly Norberg. That is who we know of. There are 2-3 commitments we have not put a name to. We won't know how the class is going to look until everyone signs.
The most likely to fill spots in defense are going to be the 4 LB's, 3 D-linemen and a couple dbacks who redshirted last fall. There may be a couple freshmen that do not redshirt this year however.

I'd like to see Thuman and Redmond added to this class.
Jaried Combs is another guy I was hoping we could add late but I saw he picked up an Iowa St. offer. A couple LB's and this class is complete.

We are deep at WR but I don't think you can pass up WR who appear to be as talented as Carr and Robertson. Both of those guys appear to have the skill set to step in for McGill and Hardin after next year and will give us the burners on the edge to go along with Jackson (who was just named a freshmen All-American) and Fletcher. I think we had to address getting a couple speed guys outside this year.

That would be great if the chest bump was Thurman. Landing Norberg, Aeron Carr and Thurman would be a great way to wrap everything up.

I suppose us and Portland St. are in the same boat. They had a true freshmen QB last year who put up decent numbers, he's their starter next year. We have a couple freshmen who are competing for the starting job and are the favorite going into spring/fall. We'll see how it plays out but the comments make me question his commitment status. Still would love to see him on campus next fall

I think a lot of Miller's lack of production last year was attributed to our offensive line play. We were just to inconsistent. Obviously injuries did not help that but it needs to improve this year. Being able to run will help our freshman qb (whichever one it is), out dramatically next season.

Armond Hawkins is starting to get some extra interest from Fresno State now. They and Idaho doing in homes with him this week.
Its going to be tough to get him. He is obviously a big talent. Hopefully the trip went well and Coach Nurse can work some magic. Lots of playing time available at the CB position.

Did you do a survey to find out if there really is more UND fans than FU fans that want the game or are you just basing your opinion on what the 50 people who routinely post of bville think compared to the 50 people who routinely post here think?
As Darrell mentioned above, this discussion was brought up by Fargo media yet I love how FU fans somehow spin it that its UND who needs this game. Play 10 games next year or pay someone $300,000 to come to Fargo. We really don't give a !@#$. Any team GT calls for the game holds all the negotiating power if their AD does their homework.
