  1. For someone who rants and raves about people bringing up UND all the time, you sure keep a pretty good watch on this message board.

Its August, he was just checking in to see how recruiting went in February.

  2. So Fullerton is an idiot for wanting to try and figure out a way to have Big Sky teams go FBS, where the money is. Then, on the other hand you guys provide reasons why FCS is dying and unsustainbable but UND, Montana and Montana State should want to stay FCS and be happy with what they got.

Can't have it both ways. Is FCS dying or not?

    Well said.

I have no idea if what Fullerton is proposing is even possible but he seems to agree with what the gentlemen from Eastern Kentucky is saying and is working to provide a solution to the issue. When you are a school in one of only 3 conferences in the west playing football, you don't have a lot of options to move up.

On the FU board they say eventually a conference will look past travel costs to add "the next Boise St./new ESPN media darling" to their conference. That they believe that is laughable. If schools need to start paying additional money to players outside of scholorships, they will be looking to cut costs, not add them. You can't fault Fullerton by looking for a solution for his schools who would like to move up and get a share of the money in the article. One could even argue that PAC12 and Mountain West teams would pay more for non FCS games as their options are even more limited geographically.

  3. It appears Jace Hellman may get a shot at center, making the potential starting o-line look something like:

    LT Devin Barton

    LG Brandon Anderson

    C Jace Hellman

    RG Ben Henson

    RT Sean Meehan

Of course, JUCO transfer Colton Boas may crack the lineup at center or right guard once he gets more familiar with the offense.

I noticed that line in the picture posted today as well. Had to look at the roster to find out who was in each position.

  4. Looks like S Chris Hannible is no longer on the roster - that's not good. He had big play potential. Makes Reyes almost a guaranteed starter next to Carr at he safety spots.

We are thin at safety. Aaron Rogers played SS in college, he may add some depth but we need to stay healthy this year.

  5. Honestly I don't know if people find it all that interesting for the most part. Coaching changes seem a lot more interesting....

Which is more likely to be breaking news? Brian Kelly hired at Notre Dame or Jack Swarbrick hired to be Notre Dame athletic director?

Yeah, replacing Gene Taylor isn't that big if deal.

They stayed away from it so applicants were not swayed from applying. Same reason they took such an active interest in UNDs football coach position.

  6. Sometimes they don't work out, other times they do. I would take another Braden Hansen in a minute. Everyone has a reason for being here.

Either way, welcome to the program.

  7. I'll post this question here since it relates to the Alerus and football.

Can't say I blame them with such a difference in revenue, but any thoughts as to why the revenue at the Al is so comparatively poor? Simply a function of walk up traffic due to market size?

If you go back to when Class AAA started, one of the 3 (now 4) Fargo schools has probably been in the championship nearly every year. Also, Shanley has put together a nice run and has been playing in the championship the last number of year. Even years when one of the Fargo teams is not in the championship, you have a pool of fans from 4 class A schools in the same city. Most likely two of those schools were playing in the semi finals the week before and will have an interest in the game.

Not hard to figure out where the revenue differences are coming from.

  8. You do know that Missouri State is game three right? They haven't won more than 6 games since 1996. Not exactly solid, but the rest of your post is spot on.

They will be solid. They have a three year starter back at QB who is athletic and some weapons around him on offense. They put up points on some good defenses last year and going off last year, our defense didn't stop anyone.

  9. How is it an elite camp if people can just walk up and register?

I would guess the coaches have invited a specific group of recruits. If you are getting guys you are targeting to this camp, someone who you may not have on your list may sneek on the radar with a good performance if you let guys sign up who want to be challenged.

  10. Williston is not a Whole Foods kind of town. I doubt many there would care about organic foods. I noticed you skipped over the Swiss 500 million development project headed by a NDSU grad. Doesn't fit your narrative?

People in Williston will buy groceries where ever is convenient, easy and items are available.

  11. It would be nice if we could do yearly home and home with FU every year. It would benefit both schools schedules.

Also, I agree with the earlier post, it would be great to get USD and Omaha on alternating years of FU and BU. I wouldn't mind playing those teams yearly.

Other than mostly road games, if that is truly the schedule, it will be challenging and is a nice schedule from a competitive standpoint.

  12. Just spent two weeks in the Bakken and am even more grateful UND has aligned themselves with these companies the way they have. The plans these companies have layed out not only in the Bakken but where they are headed 5 and 10 years down the road is very detailed and impressive. If UND can work with these companies to help develop the type of employees they need, the new program will be very valuable to the midwest with a great ROI for the university.

  13. If you think that mess called the WAC or what's left of a once proud and competitive conference is something to be pounding the drum for, you are as shortsighted as NDSU fans who think the SL or MVFC is an end destination. .....SORRY.

    Where did he say that?

  14. I will give you that Bisonville is the lair of NDSU's Lunatic Fringe much as Sioux Sports is the same for UND. That's not to say there aren't reasonable and objective fans on each message board, but each one is where most of the goofballs like you or wyobisonman hang out. A simple fact remains there are a great number of people that appreciate successes by both UND and NDSU. Historically since let's say roughly 1960 UND Hockey has had National fame at the highest level and NDSU football, to a somewhat lesser extent, has experienced national exposure at the D-2 and more recently at the FCS level with additional success against a limited schedule of FBS competition.

Neither school obviously has to apologize for those achievements. If you want to call the same person who sits at a UND hockey game against Wisconsin or an NDSU game against Minnesota some form of traitor well go ahead. You are the one that looks foolish not that person.

And a fan of either school that doesn't like the other does not have to apologize either.

  15. Homer is nothing more than darell posting under another name. That is very obvious. But that's typical with people who have more technological power than they deserve.

Game must not be going to well.
