opposing offenses pick on one player in our secondary and he wasn't any of the numbers you mentioned.
-
we have to throw it when the defense dares us to. Studsrud did that today. Battles couldn't in weeks prior.
-
the offense runs so much better with Studsrud. I'd argue based on results this season it has everything to do with Studsrud.
-
absolutely they had to hand it off. Santiago had to burn nearly 10 seconds on the run. When Santiago was tackled there was 27 seconds left. Otherwise they would of had to take a delay of game and punt. Did you watch the Michigan game a few weeks ago.
-
The part in bold I agree with. I'm all for giving Joe a chance as we have got zero production the last couple weeks. That said, when comparing Bartles and Molberg, Joe used to make his plays throwing the deep ball. He really struggled throwing short routes. We have no deep threat right now so unless Joe has improved the short passing game, I fear it would be more of the same.

I was replying to a post about how NDSUs backup QB supposedly didn't miss a beat from Wentz. My point was the the new kid at NDSU statistically put up similar numbers to what we see from Studsrud And most importantly win the game. Studsrud has been doing that all year before the injury yet some still call for him to go to the bench. I'll take 126 passing, 100+ rushing with only 1 turnover.
-
Are you comparing QBs or entire teams? I would say the biggest difference is the current talent level up and down both rosters. That's the difference. Hard to argue 4-1 with Studsrud at QB, 0-3 without him.
-
4-1. Our entire team right now is not talented enough to beat elite playoff teams. Can't single out one position.
-
I stand corrected by 26 yards. if you want to look at facts, one of the Qbs has a little more talent around him to work with. I imagine it was a little easier for a QB who has arguably the best OL in FCS and a decent set of WRs to throw to. It's hard to argue against 4-1 and the first FBS win in program history.
-
the new guy at NDSU came in, rushed for over 100 yds, threw for less than 100 and won. Their fans are ecstatic about that. UND fans have a starting QB who was 4-1 and had similar stats and were calling for his replacement cause he wasn't getting the job done. Ill take wins over stats.

Watching the Utah Utes on Fox rights now. Trying to figure out why I don't mind the sound of that but hate the sound of North Dakota Nodaks.
-
It would make more sense to be the Sundogs.
-
Montana apparently putting 8 guys in the box daring us to throw, and we can't. Unreal.
-
I'm ready for them to give Joe a shot. Our offense is anemic right now and our defense is struggling. Can't win in this league if you only score 10 points a game.
-
Good start. Get the defense back out there
-
Those 3 Montana plays took about 20 seconds.
-
we likely haven't but why not today.
-
I'm thinking this as well. We out score them in the 2nd half.
-
In my experiences with this coaching staff they are not going to play guys who don't give them the best chance to win. I don't think they are "sticking it to Joe". He came of an Achilles tear and maybe he's not as good as he was prior to the injury and they have had the opportunity to see that in fall camp and the season.
-
All 4 games remaining on the schedule are very winnable and I wouldn't be overly surprised. I also would not be overly surprised if we lose all 4. Especially if we continue to hurt ourselves with turnovers and 4th quarter collapses.
-
I've always thought Bartles did a good job with presnap reads. I'm hoping with a week under his belt and a good running game today our offense has some success.
-
I know Bison fans love to think all UND thinks about is them but you haven't been paying attention to the DBs that have been brought in this offseason and the last two recruiting classes. The staff went through one season and recognized they needed significant upgrade in the secondary and it's currently a night and day difference to what it was two years ago. If it wasn't for a dirty block by the Bison, we would be sitting good at safety right now as we don't have the depth yet.

I'd like to see the formation we ran on the last play of the game last week a little more. Put Santiago out wide and put Oliveria in the backfield. A couple handoffs to Oliveria would open up the Santiago fly route down the sideline. I would have actually liked to see that play call last week at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Straight out of the Bob Babich playbook but this offense is setting up that type of play call.

Tough one to predict after last week. We need to stop with the turnovers. UND- 17 WSU- 13
