oops... guess I didn't need to make a whole new thread.... oh well... too late now. Derrick should be a fun player to watch this upcoming season

From Brad's Blog I like this kid already... but that might be due to the fact that he's from Wisconsin
-
I'm thinking we take full advantage of: -Brad's Blog and the Herald -The Ralph with any support they may provide -The Dakota Student can perhaps mention it -Sioux Crew can promote it -Lifetime Sports (where students purchase tickets) -Student season tickets... last year they had a little meeting with us before they hand over our tickets Other ideas: -handing out fliers at a previous series -working with the Sioux Shop to help those that forget Feel free to add to the list, or if any of you have any connections, feel free to volunteer to send someone an email or make a phone call I have some free time... at least for now...
-
I sent The Ralph another email with your fantastic suggestion
-
Just because it may not be 100% successful doesn't mean we can't try...
-
I decided to email the Ralph to see what they have to say about possibly helping and this is apparently something that they have previously thought about.... although their version seems to make it much more complicated that it needs to be.... The majority of us already have a green shirt... we don't need the Ralph to buy us another... although that'd be awfully sweet!

Any suggestions on how to start this tradition? It seems as though the student should be fairly easy to reach through Sioux Crew, where you purchase tickets, and student season tickets.... What about the rest of the fans? What do non-students pay the most attention to? TV? Radio? the message board? papers being handed out? Is it possible to do a mailing to all the season ticket holders? (Do you guys already have your tickets....)

Perhaps a poll to see what everyone else thinks... hmmm... should have added "Both" as an option for when
-
I like this idea.... Gopher series and/or WCHA home playoff games...

After going through that "Your Favorite College Hockey Pictures" thread over on USCHO.com, I came across the "white out". As "thecomicbookguy" demonstrates with this picture in the thread all the fans come to the game wearing white jerseys/clothing. I decided to look this up a little bit more. According to Wikipedia the Winnipeg Jets are the ones that started the White Out tradition... Do you think that it would be possible to do something like this at the Ralph? Maybe white, maybe green.... I'm thinking the hardest part would be getting the word out to everyone, but if we picked a game at the end of the season it couldn't be that hard... Talk to the people at the Ralph and see if we can hand out papers, have it written about in the paper, perhaps radio... Anyone else think this would be a cool idea to attempt?
-
It looks like it to me...
-
Correct me if I'm wrong (and I might be) but isn't the Timothy Oshie they are referring to in these press releases (as the director) TJ's father Timothy and not TJ the Sioux hockey player?
-
I think that the fans can help with this too. Cheering and being loud in general... make the Ralph a place that opposing teams do not want to play... get in the other team's head... let them know that we are behind our team no matter what. I'm not sure how to get the casual fans as into the game as we all are... but this sure would be a great year to try!

Here is a recap of Thur's scrimmage from "gladthraser" over on the Thrasher message board
-
While coverage seems to be limited as to what actually happened at camp, or at least I can't find it as easily as I can the Blues information it seems that Thrasher fans are worried about the consistancy of Kozek and Kaip. However, in the final scrimmage (I believe), Kozek got a hat trick to help his team win the game. Thrashers Prospect Camp Wrap Up I'll see if I can find anymore information on the message boards...

Back to Oshie.... One of the Blues fans at camp today did an "interview" with TJ during the autograph session.... pretty interesting depending on how far you read into it. Note Speak Interview & Picture
-
Actually, I believe that I read over on the Blues website that Hirsch in fact was not at the camp

In a post titled "MacInnis on 590 just said. . ." Shinny states: After stirring up hopes and getting Blues fans really excited (for ten posts), Shinny adds: This thread can be found here I'm not sure what kind of "bad habits" they feel TJ is picking up playing at UND... but I don't agree
-
Some very nice words for the UND boys from Andy Strickland's blog
-
This is exciting news! I only wish I would still be in college when he gets here... perhaps I'll have to pursue another degree Edit: I love the whole family thing! It seems that recently as soon as one siblings leaves, another ones comes in. Genoway, Jones, Zajac, Toews... any others in recent memory? Were the Parises on the team at the same time?

Another take on Day One of the camp... Oshie and Duncan are in Group 2 Development Camp There is a picture of Duncan in this blog, but also if you go to the Blues homepage there is a slideshow that you can watch, not very long but there are a few pictures of Oshie and some of Duncan as well
