  1. I was kinda wondering that too... there are only like five posts or something... I was a little confused...
  2. Haha! Good news for the Sioux! I'm sure that they are very excited to have a confrence to go to their first year in D1
  3. I've got a good one for UND students/alumni - The stupid half steps in Merrifield Hall And have you ever noticed how just about every single building on campus when you walk in the door you either have to go up stairs or down stairs in order to actually get to a floor? - No sledding hills in Grand Forks
  4. I'll start with the obvious... - FIGHTING SIOUX ATHLETICS - Flying - Lambeau Field - Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers - Travelling with my family - Free movies
  5. - People who assume that just because it's my 21st birthday I'm going to go out and get drunk... - People who randomly come to the movies without ever looking at the showtimes and what's playing and then are upset when there is nothing playing for an hour... - People who buy advanced Imax tickets, show up five minutes late to a sold old show and complain there is no where to sit - Harry Potter - Brian Urlacher - toll roads - People who leave at halftime at UND the football games Do we get to start a thread about things that we love now??? Cuz that would be really cool... except I think we'd all say hockey
  6. I'm going with Phil... I think I've read in the past that he does well....

    Fall Camp

My friend's cousin transferred from Fullerton College in California to UND... his name is Ryan Pollow... and he'll be a junior this year. She can't remember offhand what position he plays, but I seem to remember her telling me in the past that he's a linebacker. I tried to look it up on the Fullerton College webpage, but they've already got rid of last year's roster to make room for the new one (which isn't up yet).
  8. This the email response that I got from Brad.... I have also sent an email to the Athletic Department to see if they would be supportive of an attempt to start this event.
  9. I figured that was also an option, and would indeed be VERY cool to see... but for some reason I have this feeling that fewer people have black jersey/shirts.... although it's totally an option if people would prefer that...
  10. oops... guess I didn't need to make a whole new thread.... oh well... too late now. Derrick should be a fun player to watch this upcoming season
  11. From Brad's Blog I like this kid already... but that might be due to the fact that he's from Wisconsin
  12. I'm thinking we take full advantage of: -Brad's Blog and the Herald -The Ralph with any support they may provide -The Dakota Student can perhaps mention it -Sioux Crew can promote it -Lifetime Sports (where students purchase tickets) -Student season tickets... last year they had a little meeting with us before they hand over our tickets Other ideas: -handing out fliers at a previous series -working with the Sioux Shop to help those that forget Feel free to add to the list, or if any of you have any connections, feel free to volunteer to send someone an email or make a phone call I have some free time... at least for now...
  13. I sent The Ralph another email with your fantastic suggestion
  14. Just because it may not be 100% successful doesn't mean we can't try...
  15. I decided to email the Ralph to see what they have to say about possibly helping and this is apparently something that they have previously thought about.... although their version seems to make it much more complicated that it needs to be.... The majority of us already have a green shirt... we don't need the Ralph to buy us another... although that'd be awfully sweet!
  16. Any suggestions on how to start this tradition? It seems as though the student should be fairly easy to reach through Sioux Crew, where you purchase tickets, and student season tickets.... What about the rest of the fans? What do non-students pay the most attention to? TV? Radio? the message board? papers being handed out? Is it possible to do a mailing to all the season ticket holders? (Do you guys already have your tickets....)
  17. Perhaps a poll to see what everyone else thinks... hmmm... should have added "Both" as an option for when
  18. I like this idea.... Gopher series and/or WCHA home playoff games...
  19. After going through that "Your Favorite College Hockey Pictures" thread over on USCHO.com, I came across the "white out". As "thecomicbookguy" demonstrates with this picture in the thread all the fans come to the game wearing white jerseys/clothing. I decided to look this up a little bit more. According to Wikipedia the Winnipeg Jets are the ones that started the White Out tradition... Do you think that it would be possible to do something like this at the Ralph? Maybe white, maybe green.... I'm thinking the hardest part would be getting the word out to everyone, but if we picked a game at the end of the season it couldn't be that hard... Talk to the people at the Ralph and see if we can hand out papers, have it written about in the paper, perhaps radio... Anyone else think this would be a cool idea to attempt?
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong (and I might be) but isn't the Timothy Oshie they are referring to in these press releases (as the director) TJ's father Timothy and not TJ the Sioux hockey player?
  21. I think that the fans can help with this too. Cheering and being loud in general... make the Ralph a place that opposing teams do not want to play... get in the other team's head... let them know that we are behind our team no matter what. I'm not sure how to get the casual fans as into the game as we all are... but this sure would be a great year to try!
  22. Here is a recap of Thur's scrimmage from "gladthraser" over on the Thrasher message board
