  1. We are doing green and that is final. If you would like to do a white out... feel free to start planning it, but we're not changing our green out now. As far as tshirts, we are trying as hard as we can to get something together.... feel free to help...
  2. I suppose Green Out is considered a variation? Perhaps we should go with The Big Green then... Thanks for the info!
  3. You've already started this thread once... couldn't you have just gone back to that one to look this information up?
  4. Another possible name is: The Big Green (yes, that's the name of a Disney soccer movie)
  5. Great story... also interesting to note that Derrick LaPoint was the only freshman to go with the team. I'm sure the other guys had plans, but it just seemed interesting to me
  6. Fabulous! Where do we go from here? Do I continue to work on making this happen or just let Telesis run with this? Should I keep working on it until after Homecoming and then come to a meeting and let you guys know what I've got and how you can help? Any ideas? I'm very excited that this seems to be taking shape!!! As far as the Holy Cross stuff goes... let's just focus on our team.
  7. After recently talking to a friend who is involved with Telesis, the possibility has been brought up of Telesis becoming VERY involved in the Green Out. For those of you who are unaware, Telesis is the Student Alumni Association (I think)... I'm sure that I'll be corrected on that later tonight. They were having a meeting tonight and all the information is provided to them, so depending on their agenda they may or may not have been able to discuss helping with the Green Out. Hopefully we can get some more information either tonight or tomorrow...
  8. Not exactly Sioux related, but hockey related so it works Free billboard advice for the NHL The first picture, the Dallas Stars billboard is an actual billboard. Pretty entertaining! Can you think up a billboard for other teams not already mentioned?
  9. Just another update for those of you interested. I gathered some of my friends today that are interested in helping me to try and do some more planning and brainstorming. This is what we came up with: NAME: Green Out Weekend Envy the Green Weekend SHIRTS: (possible donation of shirts or money) Engelstad Foundation/Betty Engelstad Barnes and Noble (donated the UND 125th picture shirts) Student Government, UPC (they have money) Housing (have $150,000 of student fees that they have yet to figure out what to use it for) - submit a proposal to the residence hall president's meeting Clear Channel (and other businesses) Alumni Association PUBLICITY: Signs (doors of the Ralph, Alerus, around campus, around town, etc) XL93 and other radio stations Grand Forks Herald Ralph (concourse TVs and PA announcements) Student Government (emails, etc) WDAZ Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce (monthly newsletter) Football (announcements?) PEOPLE WE WANT TO TALK TO: Tim O'Keefe - President of the Alumni Association -We figure in order to get donations of any sort we'd need to have help setting up an account Tom Bunning - We feel like this event is something that Bunning would not only enjoy, but that he would be enthusiastic in helping with publicity and possibly donations Sioux Crew - Help in publicity Coach Hak - The possibility of having the players wear green jerseys as well as the fans wear green shirts Feel free to add comments, suggestions, and any opinions that we all know you want to share
  10. I have to agree... if the "treatment" of the Native American (Indian?) students on campus is so bad, then why are they still here. There must be some other school they could have attended... no one is forcing them to come, just paying for it. As most likely everyone on this board will say, I've been at UND for three years now, this is my fourth, and I have NEVER seen a student treated differently from the rest of them. This doesn't apply to Native American student, I've also never seen any other minority, or majority, student treated differently from the rest of the student body. Doesn't there have to be more "proof" than just someone saying it happens? How come nothing has ever been documented? Last I checked that's (which was Law class this morning) isn't that libel or slander?

    Coin Flip

I saw it... at first I thought it was Canadian, which I thought was pretty funny... but you've got the correct coin for sure. Not sure who provides it though... I thought the ref, but that's just from that one NFL game a while back where the ref didn't have one.... or maybe I'm confusing it with a commercial... haha
  12. HSU also had two #8 playing... that got confusing until I realized that there were two, the QB and a black kid on defense. The hit towards the end of the game was FABULOUS! I stayed until the end of the game, and other than the fact that my feet are a little sore today, I don't regret it at all. It's sad to see so many fans leave so early.... yeah, it's still a blowout, but can't we support our team a little more?
  13. Just an update for everyone So, the "official" Sioux Crew shirts for this year are white.... yeah.... not sure what the deal is with that. I've heard the reasoning that Sioux Crew teamed up with the Athletic Department so now there is a bunch of crap on the shirts as opposed to simply saying Sioux Crew. Also, it's been three weeks since I emailed Sioux Crew the first time, two weeks since the second time... and two weeks since I emailed the Sioux Boosters (Alumni) and have yet to hear back from either of them. I'm not sure what this means, but with school and work starting, I don't have time to continuously try and get a hold of people.... I believe I am going to talk to Student Government either today or early next week (probably next week), so hopefully I will have something positive to report after that...
  14. Not to get too far off topic, but isn't that the point of the Info Desk? You're there to help the students... you're still getting paid so why do you care what they're asking?
  15. From the Stu Gov Update email that I just received: Yay for being a senior! Boo for Ticketmaster fees this year... I'm also impressived, this is the first time in my four years that tickets have been distributed the same way two years in a row
  16. From what I read on the Chicago Blackhawk's message board Porter has signed with the St. Louis Blues. However, the only thing that I can find (without looking to hard) is this. I'll keep looking. Congrats to Chris!
  17. UND has made the Princeton Review... however, I'm thinking it's not exactly what the administration would have hoped. Top 10 Schools Where Students Rarely Study If you register you can read more information for free... for those of you that think that takes too much time, here's what it says: What University of North Dakota Students Say....
  18. I'm in there some where too!!! I like it!
  19. According to the facebook group: They cut back on the other teams too. For football (and basketball?) co-ed will only have 12 this year, all girl will only have 16, and i'm not sure about dance. The hockey cheerleaders also have to cheer for volleyball and soccer
  20. Brandon Brady got some... and I think the Dungy kid did as well... I can't remember his first name off hand. Although they changed QBs a lot so I might be getting the lines confused
  21. #77 Brian Troen was limping off the field early on, to be honest I didn't pay much attention to if he played again, but it didn't look serious at all. Other than that no injuries. A few players stretching on the sidelines so maybe some cramps, but nothing to note. At the end of the game they were doing some kicking drills.... Hellevang made his first one, missed his second, missed his third (?), and then Coach Lennon encouraged the rest of the boys to start cheering, the announcer did the same thing for the fans and Hellevang made the kick.... I believe the final two were about 50 yards... each before that about ten yards closer.
  22. Overall, I thought the first team offense and defense looked good. It looked as though the offense got off to a quick start and the defense was stronger as the scrimmage went on. Just some random notes that I made: SPECIAL TEAMS: - #8 Alex Nicholas dropped a kickoff, chased it down and ended up with a pretty good return. - Field goals seemed to have a lot of trouble kicking into the wind... good thing we play in a dome. #12 Stephen Fashant was having a hard time getting the ball above the cross bar - They seem to need to work on snaps for punts, one went over the punter's head and many others the defense had a good shot at blocking the punt OFFENSE: - #83 David Peterson made a great catch to the seven yard line - #81 Kellen Leupp made a good third down catch in the two minute drill to get a first down - Ryan Chappell was not playing - Weston Dressler had a nice catch for a touchdown in the beginning, didn't seem him playing much except on special teams after that - The first team offense had ALL DAY to pass the ball, good protection... beyond first team they had very little time - In the "freshman game" QB #9 Brent Goska had a 45+ yard touchdown run - Alex Nicholas had great effort... earned yards after the catch/contact - As far as other QBs, #6 Jake Landry (second team) seemed to have a good arm but be a bit off on his aim.... #14 Andrew Gudmunson looked breakable DEFENSE: - #48 Paul German had a "tackle" for a loss.... was against a QB so couldn't actually tackle him - #28 Brandon Jordan had a very nice breakup of a long pass - #13 Brett Holinka dropped an interception - #14 Freshman Kris Ankenbauer had a nice hit - #20 Rory Manke with an interception during the redzone practice - total penalties for the scrimmage 3 for offensive holding, and one for defensive false start I think that's about all I've got... not a whole lot... I've got some pictures... once I put them on my computer I'll see if I can figure out how to upload them here
  23. That's a very good point... and I'm very glad you brought that up. Green With Envy makes it seem as though we are jealous of the Gophers, and that is not the case. Perhaps Envy the Green would be a better name... Thanks for mentioning it!
  24. 5:30, East Grand Forks Senior High... not sure where that is, but I'm gonna try like heck to go!
  25. Love the "Green With Envy" name!!! As far as sign, we are working on that right now... we're trying to make some sort of "logo" or something we can consistantly use on all signs that we'll post and hand out. Hopefully we should have that within the next week. Keep the suggestions/ideas coming! And I'll let ya know when we need help hanging up signs!
