  1. I would prefer "get your team ready for the game and make good gametimes decisions Bubba" to "Dancing Bubba" but it doesn't seem like we get a choice in the matter.
  2. It's starting to look like this is our real team and the one that beat the Bison was just an anomaly.
  3. But hey - we're gonna still be day by day.
  4. You can thank Chaves for our coaching predicament - he thought that 5-6 Bubba (after pissing away the Bison game) deserved an extension before his contract was up. Absolutely no demand for excellence from the administration.
  5. It's just amazing what Bubba has done with the momentum from our victory over the Bison. So far 3 of the worst halves of football I have seen in a long time.
  6. Even with the penalty difference I felt the refs were horrible. The tripping call for example. Most of their misses occurred right in front of them.
  7. I think Bubba is very resistant (and almost incapable) of change. We've had a 10 year sample of his work. Everyone seems to understand this except one person - Our AD who thought it was a great idea to extend Bubba after his fantastic 5-6 season (where he pissed away a chance to beat the Bison). Now we're stuck.
  8. Bubba isn't hockey's fault.
  9. If he can only get to 5-6 he would get another extension.
  10. It's been a long time since I have seen our lines bully the Bison - but we definitely saw that today. Great execution. Well done. Keep up the good work.
  11. Izzo is the original Bison lickspittle - can't stand to see his face.
  12. 1953-1964
  13. The big factor in the heartburn is the pathetic execution - even after we knew they smelled it out we fumbled around a bit then ran it.
  14. Some absolute snipes in this game. I hope this continues because when things weren't going well it seemed all of our shots in some games were center mass on the goalie. If we can shoot like this it will be a good year.
  15. Actually, I think it is more if the administration demands excellence - fans had nothing to do with renewing a 5-6 coach before his contract was up.
  16. And "culture"
  17. Exactly this - and this is after 6 years of Muss. At this point Bubba's gonna Bubba. We are recruiting better but the same old deer in the headlights look in big games. He is not changing. By contrast, the school to the south got rid of Bob Babich when he was 46-22 after a bad year and because of a poor playoff record and the inability to beat their biggest rival (sound familiar?). Not only did we hire a 22-21 coach, we extended him after a 5-6 season. Absolutely no commitment to a winning program from the administration. - And before I get jumped on, I am not saying they don't want to win - we all do from admin on down. I am saying they are not willing to do what it takes for the next step - instead it's just "I hope this year things will be better". Change is glacial here.
  18. But without the 3-4 how will we be able to stop the Bison option play.
  19. Not just Tommy - seems like the glow is fading from Danny too - his play calling lately has been less than stellar.
  20. But it stopped the Bison option back in the day.
  21. And we were who we worried we were.
  22. We'd rather have a coach who was 22-21 because he is "one of us". Heavy lobbying by the old school won the day. And here we are 10 years later. One playoff win and we extended him after a 5-6 season. Absolutely no demand for excellence from the administration.
  23. Exactly - and if this was a rare problem for us we could be frustrated and move on after 24 hours. However, this seems to happen a lot under Bubba. In big games, especially on the road, we seem to make rookie mistakes - and this affects everyone from Senior leaders to rookies. Kicking and special teams, muffed opportunities, turnovers, poor play selection (which I thought we had corrected) - you name it. Bubba and Co. have increased our talent - but we need to be able to play crisp assignment sharp football if we are going to take the next step. How many times has this happened in big games? I know that individual players are responsible for how they perform but this looks more and more like a program problem. Top programs usually have their best efforts in big games. We are not there yet - and it has been 10 years. We have 2 more big games coming up and I hope the team proves me wrong.
  24. You would think - but there is no demand for excellence for UND football.
