  1. Well he did nothing to lose the nickname...
  2. Sweet...my online guide still says Paid Programming...
  3. Getting the best quality of the year on the Sioux Women's game on my 30" dish...I wish they could get the men's broadcast this good!
  4. Goddammit, Sic! Everytime I think I'm over this you get me fired up again!!
  5. Thank you. That was exactly the type of detail I felt I left out... Sioux Pride! Never dies, it multiplies!
  6. I'm sure the BTHC will make sure the Gofers know that they are special... Minny definitely has the most to lose in the Big Ten scenario...what happens to their TV deal with FSN? Where is the Big Ten conference tourney to be held? (referenced above) They also potentially lose out on playing teams of historical significance (UND, DU, CC) and teams with local ties (UMD, St Cloud, Mankato, Bermidji). What's the attendance at Mariucci looking like with Ohio State and Penn State coming in vs the traditional WCHA teams? Could be tough for a couple years anyway... Also, you replace series that were primarily short bus rides for airline flights to Columbus, Happy Valley, etc. That will cost them a few bucks as well. Big Ten Hockey Conference is BAD for college hockey, imo.
  7. I know that I have read on here before (Sicatoka?) about the Sioux and Gofers tying for the league in 1997 and it came down to the third tie-breaker (goals against between the two teams). The Sioux won the goals against by 1 (I believe) and got the higher seed for the WCHA home playoffs. The Sioux end up meeting the Gofers in the Final 5 title game as the higher seed and accordingly got the last line change. The Sioux won that game on a great play be Peter Armbrust coming off the bench in OT and picking up a deflected shot and putting it past Steve DeBus. As a result, the Sioux got a higher seed in the NCAA's and had to win only 1 game to get to the Frozen Four (beat Cornell 4-2). Minnesota ended up playing Michigan St (Gofs win) and then top seeded Michigan (Gofs lost) in Grand Rapids. So getting that higher seed in the WCHA definitely ended up being an advantage for the NCAAs. I apologize if I didn't capture all the details but it was14 years ago...
  8. The Gofs are marketing a new cologne for the smell of Mariucci...It's called 'Desperation'...
  9. Interesting. My Comcast channel 23 in the metro area, that has the occasional WCHA game, shows Paid Programming... Hopefully it gets updated later this week.
  10. ...or participation banners...
  11. It was a "Hi" and "best wishes" type note.
  12. Oh yeah...that was classic...
  13. Ryan Duncan was always known as a good guy during his time at UND...Always giving credit to his teammates, always had time for Sioux fans...It's no wonder he is my son's all time favorite player. Two weeks ago, I sent him an email, care of his team overseas, and asked him for a note or picture for my son. Yesterday, we received a note, along with 2 signed hockey cards from Duncan. They will be proudly displayed with his Ryan Duncan-Hobey Baker puck in his room. Thanks to Ryan; a good hockey player, but a better person!
  14. It's hit or miss in the Twin Cities...the link above indicates that Saturday's game will be available on Comcast (nothing about Friday's game however)...I did check my online guide for Comcast and as of right now it only shows paid programming (i.e. infomercials) for both nights...hoping that at least Saturday's game will be shown here...
  15. I've never smelled the Bavarian almonds...must be up in the Suite level ...and don't the fireworks only go off after a home win instead of every goal?
  16. no problem...when you click on Siouxsports Forum it brings up all the main topics...hockey, football, etc....scroll down and you will see the Tickets section...good luck...
  17. check out the Ticket Thread or call the box office...I'm guessing there will be available tickets...
  18. Hi,

According to Ticketmaster, section 212 is the end that St Cloud attacks twice...If that is true, you may want to update your post...

  19. sounds like you were around in the mid to late 80's...there was a constant stream of 19 year olds to the East side until September 1986...then they upped the age to 21 and the party was over (for a couple years) for those born after August 31, 1967...good times!
  20. Untrue...totally your opinion...people didn't go to Whitey's after the flood because the food and service just weren't that good...
