So Kelley knew this all along (allegedly) and his statement last week to consider "North Dakota" as a viable nickname option was just done to quell the firestorm of social media outrage. There's no way "North Dakota" is on the final ballot IMHO.

Maybe the Omaha fans will find it a bit tougher to get tickets at REA this year. Not that it matters, as the two of them should still be able to sit together.

So the University will be in compliance per the agreement but the fans will be in violation...in turn causing the University to potentially be put back on sanctions. Nice moving target set up by the NCAA.

So Roberto Kelley is managing this firestorm by saying he will consider putting the North Dakota option on the ballot? I personally don't think he will but if he does, I hope he has done the due diligence of getting a definitive answer from the NCAA. If he puts North Dakota on the ballot without receiving feedback from the NCAA, it just sets UND up for another spin on this effing merry-go-round. It's the same situation for the North Star and Roughrider nicknames. Don't put them on the ballot if you can't get them trademarked...these are questions that I'm hoping someone is researching to see if they are viable options BEFORE they are voted on. Carry on.
